Margaret Young West, was born to the late Rachael A. Young and Eugene Young, Sr., in Frederica, Delaware, on July 28, 1925. She departed to her heavenly home on November 18, 2020.
Margaret was educated at the Union Elementary School until the sixth grade and later attended high school in Dover, Delaware, on the campus of Delaware State College. After high school, she worked at various jobs. She later retired from Perdue Poultry plant in Milford, Delaware.
Margaret, affectionately known as “Miss Margaret,” was a member of Hubert A.M.E. Church, where she joined at an early age. She served as a Trustee, member of the Missionary Board and the Steward Board and was a member of the choir. Her favorite scripture was Psalm 91, which she faithfully read every day. One of her favorite songs was Ain’t it Sweet Just To Know One Day We’ll Meet.
Margaret was preceded in death by one daughter, Katrina West; five brothers and three sisters.
Miss Margaret leaves to cherish her memories, one son, Roger E. Young (Barbara) of Felton, Delaware; three grandchildren, Rodney Young, Sr. (Connie) of Felton, Delaware, Lenora Young of Frederica, Delaware and Denise Dudley of Dover, Delaware; seven great-grandchildren; eight great-great grandchildren; one brother, Samuel Young of Milton, Delaware; and a host of nephews, nieces and cousins.
