Obituary

Mother Lillian Mildred Jabo, age 88, went home to be with her heavenly father on June 14, 2020. Mother Lillian was born in Berlin, Maryland, on October 17, 1931. She was the daughter of Wheatly Purnell and Agnes Ellen Predeoux. She was married to the late, Alfred S. Jabo.

Mother Lillian got her General Equivalency Degree (GED), at the age of 60. She was dedicated, hard-working woman who, throughout her life, worked several jobs, retiring from ConAgra Foods.

Mother Lillian’s home church was the Philadelphia Pentecostal Holiness Church in Ellendale, Delaware. She gave her life over to Jesus at the age of 18 as was a devoted child of God. She loved listening to gospel music and testifying about God’s goodness and grace to anyone she came in contact with.

Mother Lillian was a loving woman who enjoyed going out to eat with family and friends. She will be remembered for her beautiful smile and joyful laughter.

Mother Lillian loved and was loved by many. She is survived by two daughters, Mildred Lillian Jabo and Darlene Marie Jabo Whaley; five grandchildren, Harold Hampton, JoAnne Belle, Yvonne Jones, Lafayette Jabo and Nicole Jabo; 11 great-grandchildren, Gordon Thompson, Micah Perkins, Sonny Hampton, Naseem Hampton, Avina Shaw, Ryden Sturgis, Cameron Robinson, James Jones, Jr., Tierra Belle, Laila Belle and Scott B. Hampton, Jr. In her later years, Mother Lillian developed a close relationship with Roger and Millie Corbit, who she considered adopted children.
