Obituary

Lenwood Coplon, also known as “Cokey”, was born in Brooklyn, New York to Lemon Coplon and Rosia Mannah, died on August 3, 2020, at home, of natural causes. Lenwood was 70 years old. He had two siblings, Lemon Jr. and Lenard.

Lenwood attended George Westinghouse High School and Kings Borough College.

Lenwood attended Liberty Church. He was issued his minister’s license by Supernatural Deliverance Crusades, Inc., on July 9, 1995. He started a small business called The Berean Bible Research.

In addition, Lenwood was a seasoned driver with a CDL license. He loved driving and the calmness of being on the road. He drove a Yellow Taxi in New York City, medical transportation and the school bus. He was also a motorcycle rider. He drove everything until his injury and age of his body would no longer allow him to drive. He retired from the Manhattan and Bronx Surface Transit Operating Authority (MaBSTOA)

He married Sharon Bell in Brooklyn, New York, on May 19, 1972 and they had one son, Osiris Coplon.

Lenwood’s hobbies included fishing and computer repair. He also provided spiritual guidance, participated in the Angel Tree ministry, served in the prison ministry and delivered meals to the needy.

Lenwood was preceded in death by his parents and his brother, Lemon Coplon, Jr.

Lenwood is survived by his wife, Sharon Bell-Coplon; son, Osiris Coplon; twin brother, Lenard, sisters-in-law, Mary Dash and Jeanette Coplon; nephews, Dathan A. Coplon and Ricky Dash; niece, Stephanie Holmes; his cat, Hugs; as well as a multitude of aunts, great nieces, great nephews, cousins and friends.
