Ellen Mae Brady, departed this life on September 22, 2020, at the Christiana Hospital, in Newark, Delaware.

Born on November 7, 1943, in Greenwood, Delaware, Ellen was the daughter of the late Clifford, Sr. and Cathelene Hughes, of Greenwood, Delaware. She was a product of the segregated school system, where she graduated from William C. Jason Comprehensive High School, in Georgetown, Delaware.

Ellen was employed at Playtex, Inc., where she retired after 25 years.

Anyone who knew Ellen knew she LOVED to have a great time.
She was a woman of great virtue, class and humility. Ellen devoted her life to being a dedicated mother and grandmother. She had a special love and bond with her daughter, Tracey; grandchildren, LaToya and KeShaun, and great-grandchildren, Noah and Londyn. She adored them all and spoiled them rotten.

Ellen’s hobbies were shopping, completing Word Search puzzles and watching her favorite television shows. She also had a LOVE for children, especially the LOVE she had for her great-nephew Jordan, who LOVINGLY called her “Mom Mom.”

Ellen leaves to cherish precious memories: her husband of 50 years, Norman W. Brady, Jr.; daughter, Tracey N. Brady, of Milford, Delaware; granddaughter, LaToya Duffie (husband, Winfred, Jr.) of Fort Stewart, Georgia; grandson, KeShaun Morris of Milford, Delaware; great-grandson, Noah Duffie and great-granddaughter, Londyn Duffie, both of Fort Stewart, Georgia; ; three brothers, Clifford Hughes, Jr. (wife, Joyce) of Farmington, Delaware, Timothy Hughes (wife, Shelita) of Smyrna, Delaware and Harold Hughes (wife, Mary) of Chester, Pennsylvania; one special aunt, MaryAnn Scott of Harrington, Delaware three sisters-in-law, Teresa Johnson of Milford, Delaware, Betty Henry (husband, Charles) of Locust Grove, Georgia and Eleanor Hamm (husband, Curtis) of Milford, Delaware, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, friends and loved ones.

Our hearts still ache in sadness,
And secret tears still flow.
What it meant to lose you,
No one will ever know.
