Zarissa Chrisstella Ayres

Zarissa Ayres, 30, went to be with Lord on January 10, 2015. Born December 11, 1984 at Shore Memorial Hospital in Nassawadox, VA, she was the daughter of Leon and Zanetta Ayres of Greenbush, VA. She attended the Department of Defense School system and Accomack County Public Schools and graduated with honors from Nandua High School. She later graduated from the University of Maryland University College with a Bachelors in Human Services and a Masters in Health Care Administration. She worked at SAS Corporation in Cary, North Carolina as an Audit and Compliance Specialist. Zarissa grew up on the Eastern Shore of Virginia and was baptized at Metompkin Baptist Church by Reverend Earl Noel. Zarissa always found her way to the Shore on the weekends and was a member of Shiloh Baptist Church, Pungoteague, VA. She spent many years living in the Baltimore-Washington area and had relocated to North Carolina in 2014. Through all her life’s travels and journeys, Zarissa made many friends along the way. She was intelligent, kind and caring and people gravitated toward her loving spirit. She was they type of friend to always be there at the drop of the dime. Zarissa was also very dedicated to her family. Most of her weekends were spent with her parents, sisters, niece and nephew doing everything from family activities to just being together. She loved doing puzzles and math problems; she also had a passion for fashion and makeup. Zarissa was anxiously awaiting the arrival of her sweet baby girl Zoe, whom she loved more than anything. Zarissa is survived by her loving parents, Leon and Zanetta Ayres, and her sister, Ebony Ayres of Baltimore, MD. She also leaves her maternal grandmother, Christine Ayres of Belle Haven, VA. She is also survived by a host of aunts, uncles and cousins and her special cousins Zatoria and Datwain, her "brother" Marcus, dear friends Brian, Akiva, LaToya, Monai, Melody, Aletheya, and Geneva. She was preceded by her paternal grandmother, Stella Ayres; maternal grandfather, Burleigh Hack; and uncles Benjamin Ayres and Zed Wilson.
