William Edward Stewart Sr.

OBITUARY William Edward Stewart, Sr. was born in Oaksville, MD on June 29, 1936 to the late James Elliott Stewart, Sr. and May Melissa Stewart. He departed this life on Thursday, January 26, 2017 at Snow Hill Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Snow Hill, MD. He was preceded in death by his wife, Katharine Stewart; a son, Calvin Stewart; a daughter, Alfreda Stewart; a grandson, Donte Stewart; five brothers, James Stewart, Marion Stewart, Charles Stewart, Bernard Stewart, and Preston Stewart; and five sisters, Madeline Pinkett, Ruth Stewart, Clara Stewart, Sarah Shoffner and Ella Banks. He graduated from Greenwood High School, Princess Anne, MD. William had six children from his 1 st marriage (to the late Norrene Feddiman); and on March 26, 1988 he married Katharine (the love of his life). He was naturally and incredibly talented, skillful, and a Jack of all trades. William was a hard worker from a little boy through his senior years. He worked at numerous companies to include Shoreland Freezers, Perdue, Nichols, Sears and Roebuck, Campbell Soup, Woolco, Firestone, Dove Point, and served as supervisor on most jobs until his retirement. In his latter years, he was self-employed and with his best friend (brother James), provided landscaping services to local customers. William was raised in the Methodist church as a young lad and later dedicated his life to Jesus Christ. He became a member of St. Mark Methodist Church in Oaksville, MD. He served as the Chairman of the Trustee Board, President of the Methodist Men Fellowship, Custodian, Choir Member, and taught Bible Study. He really enjoyed learning about the Bible. Later, he joined his wife to minister to others in their home. “His Lord said to him, “Well done, good and faithful servant; you were faithful over a few things, I will make you ruler over many things.
