Celebrating The Life of Vivian Ida Pinder Jackson On October 29, 2018, the Arch Angel Gabriel entered into the room of mother, grandmother, aunt and cousin, Vivian Ida Pinder Jackson, sealed her lips in silence, and ushered her into the presence of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. At the time of her death, she was surround by her daughter, Mrs. Dawn Jackson Trader and her son-in-law, Mr. Vaughn Trader, Jr. Vivian was born on June 19, 1923 in Cambridge, MD, to the late Thomas and Ida Molock Pinder. Out of this union seven children were born, Clinton, Thomas, Victor, Sr., Ruth, Frances, and Josephine, all of whom preceded Vivian in death. She also had two brothers, Nelson, Sr. and Clifford, Sr. and one sister, Louise Walden, with whom she was raised after the loss of her grandmother. Orphaned at an early age, Vivian was raised by her grandmother, the late Laura Clash, from whom the word of God was planted into her life. After the death of her grandmother, Vivian was raised by the late John and Nettie Creighton Harrison of Vienna, MD. Vivian was educated in the Dorchester County school system and graduated from Frederick Douglas Sinclair High School in Cambridge, MD. She was married to the late Thomas W. Jackson for thirty (30) years. Together they welcomed into this union their beloved daughter, Mrs. Dawn Virginia Jackson-Trader. Vivian also took pride in helping to raise three of grandchildren, Shyla, Trell, and Devaughn. Vivian became a dedicated member of St. James Free Methodist Church in 1992. She put God first and foremost throughout her life, no matter what struggles life brought her way; she knew wholeheartedly that to be absent from the body was to be present with Lord. Therefore, Vivian had no hesitation in giving up her earthly body and exchanging it with immortality. As a prayer warrior and a woman of dedication, Vivian was and shall forever be remembered for being a light of inspiration to all who knew her. Vivian learned at an early age that hard work built discipline and character. She began her employment in the field of culinary arts, working at the Moonlight Inn/Kema Supper Club and Foxes Inn, located in Vienna, MD where many came to know her as quite the comedian. She was also known for her sense of humor, quick smile, and compassion for those in need. She would then go on to seek other opportunities at the Greenway Inn, Shawn Inn, Campbell Soup Co. and Cory’s as well as various private duty nursing positions. The life of Mrs. Vivian Pinder Jackson will forever be missed by: her daughter, Mrs. Dawn (Vaughn) Jackson-Trader of Lansdale, PA; step daughter, Mrs. Doreen Jackson of Vienna, MD; one adopted son, Pastor Louis and daughter-in-law Doris Reid of Salisbury, MD; eight grandchildren, Shyla Jackson, Trell (Nicole) Jackson, Devaughn (Sarah) Trader, Markis Trader, Kortney Trader and Michelle Trader, all of Lansdale, PA, Louis Reid, Jr. of Frisco, TX, Reverend Wayne Thompson, Jr. of Pondtown, MD and Montrell (India) Thompson of Cambridge, MD; two great granddaughters, Lillyanna Trader of Oklahoma City, OK and Tekia Reid of Salisbury, MD; one special nephew, Clifford “Buster” Creighton of CA and one special great niece, Aalayia Davis of Lansdale, PA; one brother-in-law, Harold (Vivian) Jackson of Vienna, MD; one sister-in-law, Margie Jackson of Salisbury, MD and one special cousin, Mrs. Bessie Mae Jackson of Salisbury, MD, in addition to a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, neighbors, friends and well-wishers.
