Viola M. Skinner

Viola M. Skinner departed this life on August 3, 2014, at Shore Health Hospital in Easton ,Maryland. She was born December 26, 1935 to Helen V. Benson (Warrick) and the late Charles W. Benson. She received her general education in the Talbot County School System and later in life pursued Biblical Studies at several schools, including Bishop Mason Bible College in Baltimore Maryland. Viola gave her life to Christ at the early age of 10 and proceeded to follow & serve Him for the rest of her life. She enjoyed attending religious based trainings and the chance to fellowship with her brothers & sisters in Christ at yearly conferences, conventions and convocations. Viola would call Talbot County Maryland her home for most of her life, cherishing her role as a wife to Wallace W. Skinner for over 50 years until his death in 2000 and as a devoted mother to her son Wallace T. Skinner. Anyone who came into contact with Viola would quickly understand and appreciate the place that God and the bible played in her life. She was a member of the Thurman Memorial Chapel C.O.G.I.C. in St. Michaels, Maryland where she served in many capacities including Missionary , Youth Worker and Sunday School Teacher. Viola is survived by her mother Helen Benson (Denton, MD), her son Wallace (Dover, DE), four sisters: Dorothy Tilghman (Trenton, NJ), Evelyn Dyson (Baltimore, MD), Charlotte Benson (Grasonville, MD) and Virginia Burford (Lawrenceville, NJ); three brothers: Percy Benson (Easton, MD), Milton Benson (Trenton, NJ) and Robert Benson (Trappe MD); two uncles: James Warrick (Easton, MD) and Harry Warrick (Grasonville, MD) and devoted grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins, friends and church family. Preceding her in death were her father Charles W. Benson, her husband Wallace W. Skinner, sisters Mary Dee Smith, Hilda Wilson and Ethel Benson, one brother Nelson Copper, three uncles Johnny Warrick, Linwood Warrick and Earnest Warrick and three aunts, Carrie Burke, Fannie Mae Fletcher and Lottie Brice.
