VANESSA’S JOURNEY Vanessa Goslee Davis, born to the late Otis Hopkins, Sr. and the late Ethel Dashiell on September 29, 1956 in Salisbury, MD, took her rest in the arms of the Lord after passing from natural causes at Tidal Health in Salisbury, MD on Thursday, December 29, 2022. Vanessa received her early education in the public schools of Wicomico County in which she attended an all African-American school. Despite many obstacles for African-Americans during that period, she graduated from Mardela Senior High School in 1975. During her years of high school she played various sports. She then received her Associate degree at Wor-Wic Community College and as a result of her academic achievements, she was the business manager for Marshall managements for several years. She then attended school at Strayer University, where she later received her Bachelor’s degree in Administration. Vanessa worked for local businesses including Comfort Inn. Vanessa retired from Wesley Temple due to her health, where she had performed Administration work for over 15 years. Vanessa enjoyed traveling, sewing, crafting, and spending quality family time. She enjoyed her private business for a small period of time, providing wedding services. Vanessa leaves behind loving memories with: her two children, Wynette Davis of Salisbury, MD and Shon Davis (Tammy) of Laurel, DE; 12 grandchildren, Yasmin Davis, Joshua Quinones, Shakia Davis, Christyana Davis, Levontre West, Tasjah Davis, Melleca Butler, Booker Deshields, Kameron Davis, Miles Davis, Akayla Davis and Anora Davis; 15 great grandchildren; 5 brothers, Orlando (Darlene) Watts, Andre Goslee, Patrick Pinkett, Otis (Amanda) Hopkins and William Dashiell; 7 sisters, Jean Anne Hopkins, Pamela (Marice) Anderson, Zina (Lionel) Gale, Francine Dashiell, Kara (Mark) Miciotto, Rahmanda Dashiell and Rashida Dashiell; godmother, Julia Arrington a host of other family members and godchildren. She is preceded in death by her maternal and paternal grandparents. Her daughter Kesha Davis and son Arnold (TJ) Davis Jr. Her brother Ahmad Dashiell, sister Zina Hopkins, nephew Brewington Bivens.
