Vander L. Morris

Vander Lee Morris, was born on December 18, 1937, in South Carolina, to the late Minnie Morris. He departed this life on January 24, 2021. After graduating from Battery Park High School, Vander packed his bags, left South Carolina and moved in with his sister, Sadie, in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. He later met and married Flossie, (who preceded him in death). From their union was a son, Dwayne and a daughter, Rhonda. He later, on April 15, 1995, married Mary Frances. They both shared a love for the same things in life; most of all for God and family. They moved from New Jersey to Delaware in 1997. Vander moved to New Jersey and was employed at Campbell Soup Company for more than 20 years. Vander, aka Eddie to some, was a well known man. He always drew your attention by the tailor-made suits he wore. He was also a comedian, always auditioning only for the grands, leaving them laughing and in tears. Eddie lived his life sharing kindness and love. He had a great passion for nature and the outdoors. He enjoyed planting and tending to his garden, hunting, cooking, fishing and traveling. During his sickness Eddie NEVER complained. Whenever someone would ask, “How are you doing today?”, the answer was always the same, “I’m fine.” I’m ok.” He understood and embraced the gift of life God gave him each day. In addition to his mother, Vander was preceded in death by his sister, Sadie and son, Dwayne. Vander leaves to cherish his memories, wife, Mary Frances; daughter & son-in-law, Rhonda and Larry Andrews; one aunt, Madeline Shaw; sisters, Argie Nue Morris, Juanita Lindsey, Betty, Betsie, Edna and Janice Nesmith; brothers, Leroy Morris and Bobby and Tommy Nesmith; children, Darcel and Curtis Burns, Darlene Anderson and Fred, JoAnn and George “Butch” Irving; grandchildren, Aaron, aka “Mr. Fine”, Courtney, aka “Mr. Golden”, Tyesha, aka “Ms. Fine”, Willie, aka “Lover” (Tiffany), Joy’ Lece, Jocelyn, Jacinta, Jamar, Jahan, aka “Vander”, Jeremiah, Stormi and Rayni; great-grandchildren, Justin, Wynter and Willie IV; along with a host of nieces, nephews, family and friends
