Upton Charles Howser

Upton Charles Howser, entered this life on February 12, 1953, to Upton Shipley and Beverly Mae Howser, of Laurel, Maryland, and departed this life on April 14, 2021. He was affectionately known among family and friends as “Chuck” and “Uncle Chuck.” Chuck was educated in the Laurel, Maryland School District, where he participated in football and enjoyed time spent with his friends. He was employed for several years as a supervisor for Livingston Fire Protection. Chuck took great pride in his work and was known for his strong work ethic. Chuck loved to fish and often displayed an amazing love for all animals and reptiles alike. He loved music by Motown and was known for his “boogie” dance. He enjoyed drawing Herman the Mouse and working with aquariums and cars; especially his baby blue Chevy Impala. With many interests and hobbies, Chuck loved life, he loved God and lived his life to the fullest. After a change in Chuck’s physical abilities, he spent the past thirteen years at home, with his family by his side; his loving sister, Lynn and her husband, Scott as his caregivers; along with his loyal pet, Nikky. Chuck had a beautiful soul, with a kind spirit, and a radiating smile that could melt your heart. He loved his family and his friends unconditionally. He brought joy to others; he never met a stranger or saw anyone without. Chuck loved to bless others and he generously gave. He was blessed and loved being a blessing. Chuck was preceded in death by his parents, Upton Shipley and Beverly Mae Howser; maternal grandparents, Chester and Nina Grove; paternal grandparents, Upton Shipley and Mable Howser; and one sibling, Betty Jane Puleo, lovingly known as BJ. Chuck leaves to cherish his memory, one sister, Lynn Howser (Scott) of Dover, DE; one son, Upton Charles Howser, Jr. (Crystal) of New Market, MD; two daughters, Christy Humphrey (Brian) of Germantown, MD and Cara McNeill (Sean) of Ellicott City, MD; eight grandchildren, Brian Jr. and Mariah (twins), Chloe, Charlee, Colin, Elijah, Jordan and Camren; his dear friend, William Hendrix; faithful dog and best friend, Nikky; and a host of nieces, nephews, family and friends.
