Tracey Dearinge

Tracey Elnando Dearinge. was born on Saturday, May 28, 1966, on Dover Air Force Base, to Willie Dearinge II and the late Reverend LaVerne Angel Isaac. Tracey departed this life on Friday, October 16, 2020, in the comfort of his home. Tracey was a 1984 graduate of Dover High School, in Dover, Delaware. He was known for his good hair and outgoing personality, and he was a lady’s man. Tracey was talented in many ways, and to fulfill one of his passions he attended Kelly’s Beauty School in Dover, Delaware, where he received his cosmetology license. Tracey was an alumnus of Delaware State University, and a graduate of The Culinary Institute of America. Tracey had a passion for cooking. He was a chef extraordinaire and presentation was key to him. Throughout his culinary career, he traveled around the world, studying fine dining and competing against various other chefs. He was a well-known chef in Delaware and the Maryland Eastern Shore region. Tracey was inducted into the Academy of Chefs, and was featured on the show Iron Chef, where he was the defending champ. He was given the title “Tracey Dearinge: Italian and French Iron Chef.” He also tied first place in another Iron Chef battle. Tracey was featured on Master Chef, and battled Chef Gordon Ramsay. His happiest moments as a chef in his words: “Today I competed in the prime rib competition. Score card was 49/50, 48/50,48/50. The challenger score card 49/50, 45/50, 47/50. I'm now the king of prime rib. My record is now 50 wins, 2 losses. I represent the French, and we specialize Encrout'e of beef.” During his career he was employed as Executive Chef at Kent General Hospital, Delaware State University, Delaware Technical Community College (Terry Campus), Wilmington University, Dover Downs Hotel & Casino, In Bocca Al Lupo Italian Restaurant, and the Kitty Knight House. Tracey also cooked for many dignitaries in the State of Delaware and afar. Additionally, he cooked for Vice President Joe Biden, the Biden Family and the Secret Service. In Tracey’s spare time, he loved playing Xbox games, and watching his Cowboys. He was preceded in death by his mother, Reverend LaVerne Angel Isaac, whom he loved dearly; maternal and paternal grandparents, Mattie and Frank Smith Dorra Fuller Yancey, Willie Dearinge I and great aunt, Mary Ann Robinson. Tracey leaves to celebrate his life, his children, Shadayna Middleton (Nate), Minister De’Andre L. Dearinge -Johnson, Shayla Dearinge, Kayla Kirby, Jayden Kirby and Tracey Dearinge, Jr.; grandchildren, Amani, Mia and Chloe; father and stepmother, Willie and Phillis Dearinge II; brothers, Willie Dearinge III, Walter Waddler III (Michele) and William Winchester; sisters, Vernedette Dearinge-Eromosele (Eddy) Shantay Harris-Garnes and Doris “Shelley” Wiley (Isaac); uncle and aunts, Clarence Richardson, Betty Richardson and Faye A. Lewis; great aunts, Nancy Daniels and Delores Bridges; godson, Josh Waddler, favorite cousin, Mel; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
