Tony Orlando Blake

Sharing Tony’s Story… Tony Orlando Blake passed away at the age of forty-five (45) on Wednesday, January 27, 2021 at 2:06 pm from health issues. He was the son of Ruth Townsend-Blake, Anderson Blake Sr., and Robert Drummond; fathers whom he would affectionately call “Dad and Dad.” Tony was educated in the Wicomico County public school system. His hobby was drawing. People saw Tony drawing and was fascinated and wanted him to draw for them. He also loved to cook and received a degree in cooking. Tony would spend his summer vacation with his grandmother, and she would teach him how to cook and sing. Tony informed his mother that at one time he and a friend were on their way to the Apollo Theater in New York City, but turned around. A warm-hearted person, Tony was known to be an advisor to the young and old. He was a person who had a lot of love for people and would give his last to help them. When he was younger, his older brother would call him “Dudie-Root” and the homeless people called him “Money.” Tony enjoyed taking care of the homeless and he would always go wherever he would see them and provide food and coffee that was left over from his shift after his day at work as a manager at McDonalds in Salisbury, Maryland. Tony started his Christian journey at a young age with his grandmother and mother. While growing up, he never forgot his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Tony fought a battle for more than a year, but never forgot his God. He kept the faith he had in God. Precious memories of Tony’s life will be cherished by: his parents, Ruth Townsend-Blake, Anderson Blake, Sr. (Christine) and Robert Drummond; one son, Quannezz Sandlin of Crowley, Texas; four brothers, Anderson Blake, Jr. (Carol) of Pflugerville, Texas, Rodney Bowen of New Castle, Delaware, Eric Thomas (Lesley) of Southern Pines, North Carolina and William Richardson (Telisha) of Salisbury, Maryland; three sisters, Antoinette Bowen of New Castle, Delaware, Tawauna Murphy (Cleveland) of Crofton, Maryland and Tasha Drummond of Snow Hill, Maryland and a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, and special friends who know who they are. Tony will be greatly missed by his family and friends. He was predeceased by his grandparents, aunts, uncles and one sister. LOVINGLY SUBMITTED—THE FAMILY
