Terry A. Dorsey

I, Elder Terry Anita Dorsey, passed this life in the year of 2015 of the Lord Jesus Christ. I am free from condemnation; Jesus’ blood has set me free I’m a new creation, Hallelujah. Jesus saved me. I leave to mourn my father, Phillip Wright, Sr.; my daughters, Shenise Hairston (Aaron) of New Castle, DE; Dianelle M. Laney (Robert) of Butlertown, MD.; six grandchildren Aaron Warren, Jr., Fahren Bartley, Ryland Bartley, Micah Handy, Londyn Laney, and Aaron Hairston Jr.; three God-children Aketia Stanford of Baltimore, MD, Latonya (Randy) of Dover, DE, and Tamika Watson-Williams (Scottie) of Dover, DE; one cousin Shelly Dorsey of Easton, MD, who is my daughter in spirit and heart; two sisters, Tammy Dorsey of Elkton, MD, and Lisa Spears of Richmond, VA; three brothers, Tommy Wright of South Carolina, Phillip Wright Jr.(Michelle) of Butlertown MD., and Michael Miller (Barbara) of Smyrna, DE; a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. I was born October 7, 1954, the daughter of the late James Donald Miller of Pondtown, MD and the late Shirley Mary Wright of Butlertown, MD. In my early years of life, I worked for Corsica Hills Nursing Home in Centreville, MD. Later in life, until I was unable to work, I was a night time production specialist supervisor at Parcel Inc., Wilmington, DE. I have worked in the church of Mt. Olive A.M.E. Church in Butlertown, MD as Sunday school teacher, Steward Board and sang on the Celestial Choir for over twenty years. I was baptized at Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church in Baltimore, MD in 1973 by the Rev. C. Johnson. As time went on I moved to Delaware where I joined Holy Bethel the Church of God in Christ where the Apostle Michael Bethel is the pastor. I continued to grow in the Lord and evangelize through song. As a member of Holy Bethel I was able to pursue my calling as a missionary and traveled to Jamaica on several occasions. While working diligently at Holy Bethel, God called me out to do a work for Him at Glorious Full Gospel Church in Wilmington, DE where the Apostle Patricia C. Williams is the founder and overseer. I worked side by side with the Apostle evangelizing, teaching, and being the Church Secretary. Not long after being at Glorious Full Gospel God called me to become an Elder. I continued to work in the church as an Elder and church secretary. In 2003 life for me changed as I knew it. I had a massive stroke that paralyzed my right side. The doctors gave up on me and said I would never get out the bed and walk. God has the final say even through a stroke and diabetic coma I continued to do His will. After the stroke, I moved home to Maryland to be with my family and joined Gospel Church of God under the leadership of the Pastor, Bishop Ronald T. Fisher. As a member I sang on the choir and graduated from the National School of Theology. During my life I have received various degrees and accomplishments however; my greatest accomplishment was my love for God and allowing Him to be Lord over my life. So, don’t mourn for me, celebrate my life. Be happy because I’m going home to be with Jesus, for me to die now is to live again, I’m saved, sanctified, filled with the Holy Ghost, born of the water in spirit, and standing on the promise.
