Teresa Levon Gaskins-Lindsey

A TIME TO BE BORN Teresa Gaskins-Lindsey was born Teresa “Reesie” Levon Warrick in Centreville, Maryland, on January 27, 1952, to Harry Roland Warrick, Sr. and the Late Iona Marva Warrick. Teresa was the eldest of five siblings, the late Harry R. Warrick, Jr.; two surviving sisters, Karen R. Warrick and Carla S. Roberts; and two surviving brothers, Tyrone L. Warrick and Darryl Brown. A TIME TO LEARN AND A TIME TO SERVE Teresa received her formal education in the Queen Anne’s County Public School System, Centreville, Maryland. In the early 1970’s, she moved to Washington, DC and began the journey that commenced her career. She completed and received several diplomas from institutions such as: Cortez W. Peters Business School, TESST School of Computers and Electronics, and certificates in Introduction to Nursing. Teresa continued on her journey in her career as a dedicated employee of C&P Telephone, which is currently known as Verizon Telecommunications. She retired from Verizon, after 39 committed years of service, with a smile. In her retirement, Teresa became an active member of an organization, “Seniors against Domestic Violence”, where she received recognition for outstanding dedication and commitment. Teresa was always passionate about helping others. She ventured out and became a certified foster parent in Prince George’s County and was recognized for housing and mentoring over 30 children, many of whom remained in contact with her until her passing. A TIME TO LOVE Teresa and Earl Everett Gaskins joined in holy matrimony on November 29, 1980, and from that union, they had one son, Aaron Everett Gaskins, of Riverdale, Maryland. A TIME TO ENJOY LIFE Some of the special joys in Reesie’s life were spending quality time with her grandson, Legend, and traveling with her son, Aaron. Teresa loved going to the casinos, playing BINGO, going to the Amish Market and shopping for clothing. She would often travel to the Eastern Shore to visit old friends and family, and ride down Holton Street, where she was born. She treasured the times when the family got together for birthdays, holidays and family vacations. Teresa loved God and loved people. Early in life, she dedicated her life to Christ and served in ministries at various churches including, Union Wesley AME Zion, next he formerly named Jericho City of Praise, then in the mid 2000’s, she settled at Reid Temple AME located in Glendale, Maryland, under the former leadership of Reverend Dr. Lee P. Washington. She served faithfully and established many long-lasting friendships. A TIME TO REST On Thursday, May 27, 2021, Teresa Gaskins-Lindsey had a very important appointment with her Heavenly Father and entered into her eternal rest. Teresa went peacefully and quietly in the presence of loved ones who were at her bedside. A TIME TO REMEMBER Teresa leaves to cherish her memories, father, Harry R. Warrick, Sr. (MD); son, Aaron E. Gaskins (MD); grandson, Legend J. Gaskins; two sisters, Karen Warrick and Carla Roberts (MD); two brothers, Tyrone Warrick (NC) and Darryl Brown (MD); one sister-in-law, Peggy Warrick (MD); one brother-in-law, Gregory Roberts (MD); three nieces; Taimari Roberts (goddaughter), Natasha Motley (MD) and Taneha Warrick (DC); three nephews, Rodney Graden (DC), Derrick Warrick (MD) and Ian Roberts (Rebecca) (FL); and a host of great and great-great nieces and nephews, cousins and friends. She was preceded in death by her mother, Iona Warrick and brother, Harry Warrick, Jr.
