Takisha Terrell Hopkins

Takisha Terrell Holland-Hopkins departed this life on Monday, October 19, 2015 at Nanticoke Memorial Hospital in Seaford, Delaware. She was born on Sunday, April 20, 1975 at Peninsula Regional Medical Center in Salisbury, Maryland to Russel Allen Holland and Shelia Cajane Davis Drummond. Takisha attended Indian River High School in Frankford, Delaware. She was employed by Severn Management Company in Laurel, Delaware, as a property manager. She also worked with many troubled teens with Mentor of Maryland in Salisbury, Maryland. Takisha served in many churches: Tabernacle of Prayer in Laurel, Delaware, Living Bread Worship Center of Delmar, Delaware; Greater Works Kingdom Ministries of Salisbury, Maryland and Nu Hope Ministries in Seaford, Delaware where she served as Minister and Exhorter of the Praise Team. She liked to decorate and was well known for her bossiness. She had a unique “whistle-ministry”, originating when she broke her ankle and could not physically shout anymore or, when the church was quiet: she blew her whistle. She was an advocate of “Women of Worship” using the acronym WOW, which as she stated, when inverted, is MOM, the person she was at the end of the day. Takisha made an impact on many lives with her cheerful personality. Takisha’s group of friends, the Fabulous Five, were her strong-hold. They did everything together: shopping, eating, and just enjoying each other’s company. Thrifting was her greatest pastime and she will be sorely-missed with her expressions: “………. a hot mess”, “Tuh” and “Girl, Bye”. She was preceded in death by her grandfather, Levin Holland, Sr. Takisha is survived by her husband, Troy Hopkins of Georgetown, Delaware, three loving children; two daughters: Markiyona Dixon, Monasha Holland, Marki Dixon, all of Seaford, Delaware; her parents, mother, Shelia Drummond of Millsboro, Delaware, her father Russel (Nicole) Holland, Sr., of Selbyville, Delaware, one granddaughter, Serenity Smith of Laurel, Delaware and two stepsons: Troy Hopkins, Jr. of Seaford, Delaware and Trayvon Hopkins of Georgetown, Delaware; four sisters: Takosha Evans of Felton, Delaware, Inez Snead of Salisbury, Maryland, Sheleena (Toby) Parker of Laurel, Delaware, Rashel Holland of Selbyville, Delaware; four brothers: Jermaine Johnson of Houston, Texas, Russel Holland, Jr. of Salisbury, Maryland, De’Andre Holland of Frankford, Delaware and Nicholas Kellam of Selbyville, Delaware, her grandmother, Rebecca Holland of Millsboro, Delaware, her father-in-law, Fred (Wanda) Hopkins of Georgetown, Delaware, one sister-in-law, Katrina (Sean) McGee of Millsboro, Delaware, two brothers-in-law, Sean Hopkins of Georgetown, Delaware and Fred Vann of San Diego, California and a host of uncles, aunts, nieces, nephews and cousins.
