SUSIE’S JOURNEY... Susie Ann Gale Wright, a resident of Quantico, Maryland, peacefully departed this life and gained her wings at the age of seventy-nine (79) on Thursday, September 23, 2021, at home surrounded by her beloved family. She was the daughter of the late Leroy Elwood Washington Gale and Mable Frances Gale of Jesterville, Maryland. For fifty-seven (57) years, she was married to the love of her life, Hughes Eugene Wright, Sr. They were committed in holy matrimony to each other on March 28, 1964 and from this union they produced four sons, Hughes, Mark, Steven and Vincent. Susie was educated in the Wicomico County public schools and graduated from Salisbury High in 1960. She attended Bowie State University in 1963 and majored in Education. Utilizing her major, she worked for the Wicomico County school system for thirty-three (33) years, educating at Westside Primary Elementary School in Quantico, Westside Intermediate School in Hebron and Prince Street School in Salisbury, Maryland. At an early age, she became a Christian and attended Elsey’s United Methodist Church in Bivalve with her family. Along the way, she became an Usher for several years. Susie loved sewing, cooking, taking care of her family and making desserts. She made the best pound cake, bread pudding with raisins, banana nut bread, feeda-lot cake and the delicious Watergate dessert. Susie was the family historian. She recorded births, birthdays, weddings, deaths and everything noteworthy regarding family and friends. She was a keeper of photographs as well. So many pictures and so many memories of loved ones. Susie kept her heritage sacred and treasured her lineage. She will always be loved and cherished by: her husband, Hughes and her sons, Hughes Eugene Wright, Jr., Mark Ivan Wright, Steven Karl Wright (Crystal) and Vincent Lopez Wright (Arlene); one brother, Ralph Elsey; one sister, Roysetta Parsons (Lorenzo); two sisters-in-law, Virginia Wright and Dorothy Wright; fifteen (15) grandchildren, Nikki Wright, Erica Wright, Hughes Wright III, Jessica Wright, Drew Wright, Sydney Wise Wright, Cassandra Wright, Leilani Wright, Deja Wright, Ja'Tara Wright, Ja'Keem Wright, Kiree Wright, Laila Wright and Jada Wright; eight (8)great-grand children, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents and brother, Vincent Lopez Elsey. LOVINGLY SUBMITTED ~ THE FAMILY
