Stanetta Gale Fleming

Obituary God saw the road was getting rough, the hills were hard to climb. HE wrapped his loving arms around you, gently closed your eyes and whispered: “Peace Be Thine.” Stanetta Rosaland Gale-Fleming, of Delmar, MD, went home to eternal rest on Saturday, February 25, 2017 at Coastal Hospice At The Lake in Salisbury, Maryland. She valiantly fought a battle with her illness since 2014. Stanetta, lovingly called “Stan,” was born at Peninsula General Hospital in Salisbury, MD to the late Stanford Gale and Clarice Gale on September 3, 1956. She was the baby of two daughters, the oldest being Pamela Jenkins-Smiley of New York. Stanetta received her formal education in Dames Quarter, MD. Upon moving to Philadelphia, PA, at the tender age of 10 years old with her mom and dad, her life in the Big City began. After graduating from high school, she was employed in numerous jobs in Philadelphia. She attended Cittone Institute, graduating as a Medical Assistant. As the blessings came along, she was employed at Ford Electronics in Lansdale, PA for 18 years. Stanetta met and befriended many co-workers along the way. Two particular friends, Lorraine and Carol, shared many laughs and cherished memories, as well as caring friend Elaine, all of Philadelphia, PA. One man she met, Carl Fleming, asked her hand in marriage. They were united on November 20, 1990 in Grenada, West Indies. She cherished and loved him dearly and the two walked side by side, building a life together. No children were born of this marriage. Stanettta was baptized in the name of Jesus at a young age in Philadelphia, PA. She loved being taught Bible Study by Bishop Thomas A Ellis of Overcoming Church of The Lord Jesus Christ in Philadelphia, PA. Carl and Stanetta began to worship at First Church of Our Lord Jesus Christ in Delmar, DE, under general overseer, teacher and Pastor Gino Jennings. After her husband Carl, lovingly called “Boobie” retired, they made their home in Delmar, MD, until he passed in July of 2013. She leaves fond memories with: her sister, Pamela Jenkins-Smiley of New York, one nephew, Sean Jenkins of New York; one niece, Tanisha Tyson of North Carolina; one grand-niece, Ty’Ashiah Tyson and one grand–nephew, Devon Jenkins, both of New York, and a host of other relatives and friends. Special Friends included Wayne and Peggy Johnson of Salisbury, MD and Dana Allers of Delmar, MD, all of whom she loved dearly. They so caringly looked out for her during her lonely battle with illness. Stanetta loved people and made friends wherever she went, with her infectious “smile” and quiet demeanor. She will be sadly missed by all who knew her along this journey called life.
