Sherry Bell

Sherry D. Bell, 51, wife of Thomas D. Bell (retired Air Force) passed away on the 2nd day of March 2013 at Kent General Hospital of Dover, DE. She was born in Pinewood, SC on the 11th day of December 1961 to her parents, Rovena W. Harris (Mother) and the late Jeff Harris (Father). Sherry graduated from Furman High School in Sumter, SC. She went on to attend Palmer College in Colombia, SC . Sherry worked as a Program Manager for Kent Crest Services working with adults with disabilities. Sherry was preceded in death by her father, Jeff Harris; brother, James Green and sister-in-law, Karen “Rose” Bell. Sherry fought a good fight, she ran a good race, and she lifted up her eyes to the hills from which cometh her help. Sherry’s help came from the Lord. She is cherished and survived by her faithful husband, Thomas Douglas Bell of Camden, DE. Her children were the light of her life: daughter, Shanika Bell of Dover, DE; son, Thomas Douglas Bell Jr. and his spouse, Takeesha Bell of Richmond, VA and Tyshawn Bell of Dover, DE. She also had a special daughter she would say was sent from God as her own; Angela Harris and husband, Marc Harris and son, Marc Jr. of Maryland; one recently born grandchild, Payton Joy Bell, in which she referred to as her personal bundle of joy; her loving mother, Rovena Harris of Pinewood, SC; three brothers, Lewis Washington and his wife, Sammie Washington of Sumter, SC, Ervin Green of Clarksville, TN and Anthony Simms and his wife, Veronica Simms of Richmond, VA; three sisters, Bessie Abraham Evans of Orangeburg, SC, Mary Hart and spouse, George Hart of Orangeburg, SC, Linda Anderson and husband, Cliff Anderson of Wedgefield, SC; mother and father-in-law, Annette and Robert Hawkins of Calhoun Falls, SC; two brothers-in-law; Maurice Bell and spouse, Sandy Bell of Panama City, FL and Jerome Bell of Brooklyn, NY; also, one sister-in-law, Charvelle Thomas of Clinton, MD; a host of nieces, nephews and god-children, relatives and friends. Sherry also left us with a special dog in her eyes known as Nino Brown. Sherry will be deeply missed by her husband, children, mothers, brothers, sisters, relatives and friends. She shared special connections with many people and was always a true friend to many. There was never a stranger that Sherry came in contact with and she always made everyone feel like family. Sherry accepted Christ as her personal savior and knew the Lord at an early age. Even through her sickness she never complained and always called on the Lord and stated about the battle that, “God is just using me as an example to help save someone else’s life and for people to get to know more about His love.” Sherry was definitely a true warrior for Christ and carried out his mission for her life until her last day. Sherry will truly be loved and missed by all who ever came into contact with her.
