Shawn Isaac Williams

Shawn Isaac Williams was born to Jesse and Irene (Jeanette) Peterson on November 20, 1972. He departed this life on November 21, 2016 at home with his fiancé Kelly Joseph. Shawn graduated from Cape Henlopen High School 1991. He briefly attended Delaware State University before enlisting in the United State Army. Shawn AKA” SUPERMAN” was avid lover of lacrosse. During his senior year he was MVP of Cape Henlopen ‘s lacrosse team, as well as MVP of the 1991 Blue and Gold all-star game. After his playing career was over he made the natural transition into coaching, where he coached at every level of the sport. Shawn used his experience and knowledge of the sport to reach and mentor young boys and girls in the area. Shawn loved his bright colors and the brighter and louder the clothing the better. He worked at Reebok, Kirkland’s, Jungle Jim and Cadbury of Lewes , Delaware. Shawn was a true family man. His daughter Tatum Travis was the joy of his life. There was nothing in the world he wouldn’t do for her. It was not uncommon to see Shawn and Tatum on a daughter daddy date. You could always find Shawn passing life lessons to his younger cousins. His friends were just as important to him as his family. He enjoyed eating and hanging out with his friends. Hosting football and beer parties at his house on Sunday’s quickly became a community event. Shawn was a lifelong member of Israel United Methodist Church, where he served in the Youth, and Throwback Youth choirs. He was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents; Eugene and Lucille (Irene) Williams. His two aunts; Betty Gooch and Dolores Williams, He leaves to cherish his memories Jesse and Irene (Jeanette) Peterson of Georgetown, Delaware, his daughter, Tatum Travis of Dover, Delaware, his twin brother, Shawniel Williams of Baltimore, Maryland; his loving fiancé, Kelly Joseph of Rehoboth, Delaware; his godson, Malcolm Mapp of Philadelphia, PA; his goddaughter, Keyisha Frazier of Rehoboth, Delaware; four aunts, Lewanda (Henry) Wright of Buffalo New York, Evelyn (Melvin) Stanley of Seaford, Delaware, Alice (Greg) Freeman of Charlotte, NC, Bonnie Hatton of Millsboro, Delaware; four uncles, Earl Williams of Dover, Delaware , Eugene (Carolyn) Williams of Millsboro, Delaware, Ronnie Taylor of Dallas, Texas, and Jimmy (Wanda) Peterson of Millsboro, Delaware along with a host of cousins, and friends.
