Selma Arlene Morris

Selma Arlene Dashiell - Morris, age 79, passed away unexpectedly on October 28, 2024 at Tidal Health (Peninsula Regional) in Salisbury, MD due to complications after having heart surgery. She was an extraordinary mother who was always there when we needed her the most, offering support, wisdom, and love in abundance. Selma’s unconditional love was unmeasured. Selma was born on March 15, 1945, in Delmar, MD to the late Pearl Frances Dashiell and Richard “Teddy” John Dashiell. She attended Salisbury High School and then later in life went on to attend Wor-Wic Tech. During her working career, which also reflected her caring heart and compassion, she worked as an In-Home Caregiver, Aide at Wicomico Nursing Home, and Aide at Deer’s Head Nursing Home, while maintaining her own Home Cleaning Business until she retired. Selma was a devout Christian and accepted the Lord into her life at a very early age. She was a long-time member of Mt. Calvary United Methodist Church in Fruitland, MD and later Union Methodist Church in Delmar, MD where she served as a member of the Union United Women in Faith. Selma was a devoted mother, sister, grandmother, great-grand mother and friend, known for her kind heart, generosity and beautiful smile. She would faithfully make her daily calls to reach out and check-in on her family and friends. She was always thinking of others and when anyone was in need, she would always do or give whatever she could. At times of birthdays, holidays or just to send a kind word, she made sure to get her cards out. We(sons) could always count on that she would call and sing happy birthday. She enjoyed when holidays and reunions came around to spend time with her family and friends. She loved getting on the road to visit with relatives and friends. During her spare time she loved taking care of her plants and flowers and definitely watching her stories (Soap Operas). Selma was married to Edward Sylvester Morris from (1963-1981). While living their earlier lives in Fruitland, MD had three sons, DeAngelo (Fontana, CA), Timothy (Henderson, MD) and Alan (Cape May, NJ). To our mother in heaven, thank you for always loving us and guiding us. Even though you are no longer here with us, we can still feel your love guiding us. You are always in our hearts. We love you and miss you dearly. Selma leaves to cherish everlasting memories and survived by: (Sister’s) Peggy Evans and Mary Golden, (Son’s) DeAngelo Morris and (Daughter-in-law) Robin Morris, Timothy Morris, Alan Morris (Deborah Fittapaldi) and (Adopted Son) Larry Moore . (Aunt’s) Betty McCoy-Fooks and Mary Savage. (Grand-Son’s) Phillip Morris, DeMonte Morris (Amanda), Denzel Morris, Devin Morris (Angel). (Great Grand-Children) Joshua, Carter, Jonas, Bella, Divine Allen, Matias, Teronnica, Terell and Tyrell. Also would like to acknowledge Alan’s extended family of Deborah Fittipalpdi (RJ, Jennifer, Marcello, Michelle, Grayson and Charlie). In addition to her parents, Selma was preceded in death by: Elsie Mae Dashiell (Grand Mother) and Ethel Cannon (Great Aunt).
