Ruth E. Henderson (Jones)

Ruth Elizabeth Henderson, the daughter of the late Lucille J. Jones and Thomas E. Jones, Sr. was born on February 16, 1944 in Kent County, Maryland and departed this life on Monday, April 27, 2015, at Queens County Hospice Center. She attended Garnett High School in Chestertown, Maryland and in her early years worked at Campbell Soup. In 1970, she briefly worked with a private family in Wilmington, Delaware. In 1974, she moved to Harford County working for Bata Shoe Company. In later years, she worked for the Harford County School system for 17 years, where she retired due to health reasons. While she was in Harford County, she attended Gospel Tabernacle Church where her Pastor was Bishop Harry Lee. In 2004, she moved back to Worton, Maryland after retiring. She became a member of Faith Unity Fellowship Ministries, under the leadership of her Pastor Bishop Robert M. Pritchett, Jr., where she was chairman of the deaconess board and a member of the mothers board where she loved serving. She leaves behind three children, Troy W. Sisco of Stillpond, Maryland and daughter-in-law, Dorothy A. Sisco, Kimberly S. Hicks of Rock Hall, MD and friend, Vernon Dembey and James Henderson, Jr. of Laurel, Maryland, daughter-in-law, Kristine Henderson and Sherman Hicks (deceased); seven grandchildren, Troy D. Sisco of Baltimore, Tayron W. Sisco of Salisbury, Monique Harris of Rock Hall (great- grandson, Alexander Harris (AJ), Sierra Harris of Rock Hall, Rakeem Hicks of Chestertown Maryland, Shermar Hicks of Chestertown Maryland and James Henderson, III of Laurel, Maryland. She is survived by one sister, Diane Anderson (husband John, deceased) of Stillpond, Maryland; nephews, John David Anderson (JD), Timothy Anderson and Mark Anderson; one brother, Thomas E. Jones, Jr. and sister-in-law, Michelle Jones. Coleman Corner; nephew, Dante Jones (deceased); niece, Theodosia Parker; loved ones left behind: Bruce Hicks and James Henderson, Sr.; special friends, Esther Pritchett and Lisa Brooks; and a host of great-nieces and nephews, cousins, church family members and friends.
