Ruby Jean Blockson

Ruby Blockson of Seaford, Delaware, transitioned from mortality to immorality on Tuesday, March 7, 2017, after a brief illness. Ruby Blockson, aka (Ruby J), was born on January 4, 1945 in Bishopville, Maryland to the late Jullion Mathias Cuffee Sr. and Alice White Tindley. Ruby relocated to Delaware and received her education in Delaware’s public school system. She was a dedicated worker in the poultry industry and retired in 1998. Upon her retirement, she continued to work as a manager in food service as well as other industries. Ruby was a jack-of-all trades and she mastered them all. She loved cooking, doing crafts and enjoyed listening to music. One of her favorite pastimes was playing spades. In her community, Ruby was a mother to many. She enjoyed advising and encouraging the youth through Godly wisdom and was a staunch believer of second chances. Ruby had a heart of compassion and gave her time to those that others gave up on. She always supported the outcast. Sometimes her words were tough because she shot straight from the hip, but they were always laced with love. She will be remembered by many as Mom Ruby. She was preceded in death by 19 siblings. She leaves to cherish her memory, her husband, Edward Blockson of Seaford, DE, two sons, Nathaniel White of Magnolia, DE and Maurice Felton (Heather) of Copperas Cove, TX., one daughter, Robin White of Felton, DE, one daughter-in-law, Toya (Fernandez) Bolden; her mother-in-law, Charlene Cannon of Seaford, DE; eight brothers, Jullion (Coretta) Cuffee of Millsboro, DE, Miles (Veronica) Cuffee of Felton DE, Frank (Rocha) Cuffee of Las Vegas, NV, Melvin (Diane) Cuffee of Atlanta, GA, Corinthian (Kimberly) Cuffee of Felton, DE, Micah Cuffee of Smyrna, DE, Jullion (Lemora) Taylor and Kevin Taylor of Federalsburg, MD; ten sisters, Helen Belote of Vineland, NJ , Shiley Felton of Dagsboro, DE, Lillian (Joseph) Tingle of Dagsboro, DE, Starr (Reuben) Hargraves of Felton, DE, Terry (Richard) Fooks of Greenwood, DE, Angle (Anthony) Deshields of Federalsburg, MD, Esther (William) Crawford of Dover, DE, Mary (Eric) Wayman and Brenda (Lewis) Richards of Cambridge, MD, and Wanda (Wayne) Batson of Federalsburg, MD; five brothers-in-law, Percy Cannon, Harry Cannon, Kenny Cannon, Alton Cannon all of Seaford, DE and Anthony Howe, Sr. of Federalsburg, MD; three sisters-in-law: Patricia (Willey) Richardson of Havertown, PA, Darlene Cannon of Seaford, DE and Cynthia (Tyrone) Oliver of Frankford, DE; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
