Rosalie Cordell

Rosalie Harris, daughter of the late Norma Dumford, and Rosse Harris Sr. (Susan Harris), was born on November 12, 1968, in Portsmouth, VA. Rosalie departed this life suddenly on March 14, 2024, at her home in Snow Hill, MD. Rosalie received her education in the public school system of Portsmouth, VA. Rosalie attended Charity Holiness Church under the leadership of Bishop George and Pastor Pauline Jackson. Rose was very dedicated to the church. She served as a faithful usher and enjoyed cooking for the church. Rose had a very friendly personality; she loved to talk and have fun. Rosalie worked for Titus Restaurant and Rubberset in Crisfield, MD; Walmart in Pocomoke, MD. as Deli Manager, Food Lion Princess Anne in the Bakery and Deli Manager, Symrna, Delaware; and Fruitland Food Lion as Deli Manager "Rose,” as she was fondly called, was a very loving, kind, and caring person. She would help anyone who was in need. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and friend to all she came into contact with. She loved traveling on her motorcycle, and she truly loved her truck. Rosalie (Rose) leaves to cherish her fond memories; her wife of over nine years, Lisa “Bop” Cordell, and her father, Rosse Harris Sr. (Susan Harris). Three daughters; Starlena Horsey (Demetrius Campbell), Shawnelle Horsey (DeQuan Dashiell), and Le’onna Horsey (Obrien Rogers), all of Salisbury, MD. Three sons, Leonard Horsey of Salisbury, MD, Alden Horsey of Minot, North Dakota, and J’Ayden Gray of Snow Hill, MD. Three stepchildren; Shawn (Janeese) Maroune, Shalise Howard, and Jah’Carter (D Anell) Jones. Three sisters: Donna Gale (Matresa Peterson) of Salisbury, MD., Sadie (Lonnie) Dear of Sharptown, MD., and Rosse Harris Jr. of Winter Springs, FL. Grandchildren; Nahere, Demitriona, Geonna Campbell, De’ Zyah Horsey, De’suan, and De’ Myah. 7-Step grandchildren; Dynel, G’Avonni, JuliOnni, Jaylab, De’mari, Antwine, and Mareese Jones. One aunt, Joyce Adkins, Mother-in-law, Rita Williams, and Sister-in-law, Christine (Anderson) Blake. Three very special sisters-in-law; Donna (Robert) White of Salisbury, MD., Shalinda (Vincent) Jackson of Crisfield, MD., and Annie (Wayne) Culbreath of Lumber Bridge, North Carolina, close friends Leonard (Myrtle) Horsey Jr., Jamar Gray, Genine Campbell, and a host of nieces, nephews, and cousins. Rosalie was preceded in death by her mother, Norma Dumford; maternal grandmother, Sadie Ann Groton, maternal grandfather– John Harris; and step-grandfather– James (Bo Bo) Groton. Paternal Grandfather– Frank Townsend, and Paternal Grandmother: Marie Kelly.
