Ronald Jenkins

Ronald Lee Jenkins was born in Milford, DE on July 18, 1949. He was part of a combination of the eighth and ninth child that was born to the late Cassie and Wilmer Jenkins. For you see; Ronald was a twin (his twin brother Donald preceded him in death). Ronald departed this life Sunday, January 29, 2017, in Genesis Nursing Home in Seaford, DE. Ronald grew up in Seaford, DE. I could say that he was your typical child; but that would not be true. Being part of an identical set of twins he and his brother Donald ran havoc on the Seaford school district, were he received his education. They tricked the teachers and played the identical twin card to the hilt. Mom was told not to dress them alike. Eventually Ronald matured, settled his mind and decided to join the Army. He was sent to Vietnam and received several medals. One night while in Vietnam he got sick and could not go out with his team. That night the hill the team was on was taken and the team was killed. I know it was through my mother’s prayers that brought him. On Thursday, January 26, 2017, I was at work (in Maryland) and felt so impressed of God to go to Delaware and see Ronald. I wanted to wait for the weekend; but realized that “Obedience is better than Sacrifice”. So when I left work I headed across the Bay Bridge for a visit. When I got to Nanticoke hospital and saw Ronald he had such a different look. A glow. He looked at me and said did Jesus send you. I said yes, I believe He did. God had set the stage; so I asked him if he wanted to be saved. He said yes. We then went through the sinner’s prayer and he began to call on the name of Jesus. All I can say is My Hallelujah Belongs to You. He leaves to cherish his memory; (Sandy) a special longtime friend, four daughters: Angel Boyce, Regina Harris, Sandra Griffin and Doris. One son: Jackie Boyce. Two granddaughters: Destini Boyce and Tre’Nae” Gosler, one grandson: Fitzroy Nelson and one great-granddaughter: Skyy Boyce. Six brothers: Wilmer (Dorothy), Frank (Jeanette), William (Doris), Ivory (Janice), Leonard and Sylvester Jenkins. Four sisters: Edith Brown, Lucy Teagle (Charles), Mary Walker and Vicki Salley (Darnell). One aunt: Shirley Kellam (Blandy); one uncle, James Cannon (Rebecca). A special sister and brother: Irma and Willie Dasher. A special mom: Irene Horsey. A special Friend: Johnny Cakes. And a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
