Robert Nathaniel Brown, Sr. was born to the late Mabel Davis and Elbert Brown on December 18, 1935, in Chestertown, Maryland. Robert Nathaniel Brown, Sr. was born to the late Mabel Davis and Elbert Brown on December 18, 1935, in Chestertown, Maryland. He transitioned from earth to eternity on the morning of March 22, 2024, at University of Maryland Shore Medical Center in Easton, Maryland. He was 88 years old. Robert was affectionally known as Brownie and Pee Wee. He received his education in Kent County Maryland and graduated in the Class of 1953 from Garnet High School. He played baseball, basketball, and ran track. Robert also attended Morgan College in Baltimore, Maryland. He worked at Campbell Soup in Chestertown, Maryland for 33 years (1962 – 1995). After retirement he worked part time for Busy Beetle Cleaning. Robert loved and knew the Lord. He was a faithful member of Bethel A.M.E. Church in Chestertown, Maryland. He served as a trustee, a member of the stewardship and finance committee, a missionary, and was a member of the Men’s Club of Bethel, AMEC Sons of Allens Men's Ministry, the senior choir and Bethelites. He loved his family and had a unique relationship with them all. He enjoyed music, sports (He was a diehard Ravens fan) and loved to dance. His favorite dance was “the baseball”! You could find him watching his Westerns like he’d never seen them before. He had a jovial spirit loved the community and was well respected. Robert had an uncanny knack for relating to all ages. He had a host of friends and he enjoyed cutting up with all of them. He could have you crying laughing while he stood right there straight faced like he’d said nothing. One of his famous sayings was “Oh go on”! Robert was preceded in death by his wife of sixty years, Florence J. Brown; his parents; five siblings Leana Adams, Annie Butler, Elsie Wicks, Benjamin Bowser, and Larry Brown; and daughter in-law Myra Michelle Burris Brown. He leaves to cherish his memory two sons, Rev. Robert (Bobby) Brown, Jr. and Charles Blake; two daughters Lorena Black (Samuel, Sr.,), and Deborah Hynson Corbin (Anthony); three sisters Vonceal Steward, Yvonne Brown, and Harriet Luray Brown; and two brothers Gregory Brown, and David Brown (Barbara). Robert had eight grandsons Tyler Brown, Sr. (Terwana), Darnell and Samuel Black, Jr., Davon Jackson (Brittany), Carey, DaiQuan, Sr., Trehquan, Sr., and Sincere Blake, Larry and Troy Rush; seven granddaughters LaKisha Brooks, Renotta and Latasha Freeman, Tavonya Steele, Takeira, Makayla, and Makyla Blake; seventeen great grandsons Tyler Brown, Jr., Isaiah and Nathaniel Brooks, Damien Jefferson, III., Lithaniel Fassett, Chance, Trehquan, Jr., DaiQuan, Jr., Daishaun, Dai’Journ, and Damien Blake, Zayden, Samuel, III, and Shane Black, Jylier Freeman, De’Air Waits, and Cayson Jackson; nine great granddaughters Aniyah Jefferson, Zionna Scott, Tanaya and Daor Jackson, Zoey Black, Honesti, Ariynn, Trinity, and Daisy Blake; five great great grandsons Shy’Heem Brown, RaJuan Bumbrey, Tyus Brown, Christopher Brown, and Ja’Kai Freeman; and one great great granddaughter Ryla Brown.
