Reginald Louis Church

Reggie’s Journey Reginald Louis Church, affectionately known to most as “Reggie”, was born on April 26, 1956, to the late Samuel “Buddy” Church and Joan Nichols Church. He departed his life on Sunday, June 1, 2025, at Deer’s Head Hospital Center in Salisbury, Maryland. Reggie was raised in Mardela Springs, Maryland, where he received his education in the Wicomico County Public School System. He proudly graduated from Mardela High School in 1974. During his time in high school, Reggie was a talented wrestler, winning many matches. He also displayed his musical gifts as a member of the school’s marching band, where he played the tuba, and he sang in the chorus. At an early age, Reggie joined John Wesley United Methodist Church in Mardela Springs, Maryland, where he began his spiritual journey. After high school, Reggie served his country by enlisting in the United States Army. He received an honorable discharge on August 28, 1977. Not long after, he met and married the love of his life, Betty L. Corbin. Together, they shared thirty (30) years of devoted marriage. Reggie was a hardworking man who took pride in providing for his family. He worked numerous jobs throughout his life and was most recently employed as a cemetery worker until his health began to decline. He was known for his strong work ethic and generous spirit. Reggie deeply cherished his time with close friends, Donald “Duck” Corbin and special cousin, Wilson Stewart. Whether they were fishing, hunting, or crabbing, Reggie was in his element with “the guys.” One of his greatest passions was racing. He loved spending time at the track and behind the wheel of his car. Reggie leaves to cherish his memory: his devoted wife, Betty Church; his four children, Anissa Church, Shamika Church, Heather Church and step-son, Andre (Robin) Corbin; his two sisters, Ann Church and Laura (Larry) Holland; his ten beloved grandchildren, Senoj, Frederica, Phailyn, Lanisa, My’Haj, Layla, Jayden, Landon, Andre, Jr. and Breanna and his three great-grandchildren; his three uncles, Reverend Dr. Hugh (Reverend Wanda) Nichols, Gregory (Reverend Lucille) Nichols and Wayne (Carolyn) Nichols; his four aunts, Christina Jones, Betty Stewart, Phyllis Bivens and Reverend Janice Austin, along with a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and dear friends. Reggie was preceded in death by: his parents; his brothers, Andrew “Teddy” Nichols and Vaughn Church; his nephew, Dandre Holland; his maternal grandparents, William, Sr. and Bethina Nichols and his grandparents, Samuel Church and Laura Hull.
