Reba M. Vernet

Reba Vernet, beloved daughter of the late Robert Reynolds and Lillie Bell Reynolds was born March 16, 1935, and departed this life on Thursday, February 22, 2018. Her favorite saying was "I'm holding on to that knot." The Lord told her to "let go of the knot and come get your crown." Reba was born in Worthen, Georgia, and spent most of her life in Delaware. She worked at Draper's King Cole Cannery in Milton, Delaware, for 35 years, and Seawatch in Milford, Delaware for 10 years, until she could no longer work. Reba was a longtime member of St. Peters and Friends Church in Coolspring, Delaware, led by the late Bishop Molly Brisco. She became a member of the Emmanuel Full Gospel Church under the leadership of Apostle Diann Alexander. She loved the Lord and loved to sing his praises. Her songs were "It's an Uphill Journey" (no one could sing it like her) and "Everything is Beautiful". In addition to her parents, Reba is preceded in death by two brothers Tommy Lee Douglas and George Floyd; one sister, Rose Lewis and two sons, Melvin Gray and Raphael Gray. She was married to Prospere Vernet for 35 years. Her favorite words were, "I have a good husband and leave my husband alone". He took good care of her until the Lord called her home. Reba leaves to cherish her memories, a loving and devoted husband, Prospere Vernet; two daughters, Dinice Florestal (Benet) of Lincoln, Delaware and Caroline Ellis (Andrew) of Salisbury, Maryland; one son, Jimmy Gray of Georgetown, Delaware, one step-daughter, Nahomie Vernet of West Palm Beach, Florida; one sister, Betty Johnson of Sandersville, Georgia; two brothers, Robert Reynolds, Jr. (Joann) of Tampa, Florida, and Albert Reynolds (Bonnie) of Hempstead, New York; two longtime friends, Lucy Reynolds and Queenie Lewis; Earl Roberts, who was like a son; 11 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; numerous family members including a host of nieces, nephews, and cousins; and many friends.
