Raymond Shargol Jones Jr.

HIS JOURNEY It is with saddened hearts that we share that Raymond Shargol Jones, Jr. passed away peacefully in the company of his loving sister, Angela M. Jones, at his home on Saturday, May 30, 2020 at the age of sixty-three (63). Raymond S. Jones, Jr. was born on September 16, 1957 to Martha Fontaine Jones of Pocomoke City, Maryland and the late Raymond Jones, Sr. Raymond S. Jones, Jr. was a graduate of Pocomoke High School in Pocomoke City, Maryland. He played football for his local high school’s varsity team in his senior year and he also loved to play little league and senior league baseball in Pocomoke City, Maryland. Raymond was well-rounded as he took piano lessons and played in a couple of piano recitals at the local church in Snow Hill, Maryland. He was also a very good Ping Pong player during his high school years and often participated and won a few trophies in the table tennis tournaments hosted at the Wicomico Youth and Civic Center in Salisbury, Maryland. While attending high school, Raymond worked at Johnny’s and Sammy’s Restaurant in Salisbury, Maryland as a dishwasher and janitor. After graduating from high school, he worked for Campbell Soup Company, Inc. in Pocomoke City, Maryland until the plant later closed. Raymond also worked as a cook for many fast food and family restaurants in Salisbury and Ocean City, Maryland. He enjoyed working with his hands and worked many part time landscaping and handyman jobs in his later years for businesses in the Salisbury area. He loved watching sports, especially basketball and football and was an avid Baltimore Colts and Baltimore Ravens football fan. Raymond was a loving son to his father and would often help him work on many manual labor and cleaning jobs in his cleaning business. He was also a loving son to his mother and would always assist her by helping around the house with household errands. He was a devoted son to both his parents during their senior years and took very good care of them during their time of illness. Raymond was also a loving brother to his younger sister and brother. Loving memories of Raymond’s life will be cherished by: his mother, Martha F. Jones; his brother, Raynard Jones and sister, Angela M. Jones; cousins, Leroy Jones, Barbara Jones, Walter Jones, Beverly Cornish, Joan Cornish, Jacqueline Cornish, Curtis Harmon, Carol Harmon, Charlene Jackson, Shirley Snead, Dorothy Wise, Eleanor Hayward, Esther Fontaine, Willis Fontaine, William Fontaine, Mary Ballard and many more cousins and relatives too numerous to mention.
