Raymond Davis

Mr. Raymond Davis was born January 14, 1962, to the late Calhoun and Bertha Davis in Salters, South Carolina. On the evening of September 5, 2016, , Raymond entered into eternal rest. Raymond received his education in the public schools of Williamsburg High School. At an early age, Raymond joined Jerusalem United Methodist Church, Salters, SC. Raymond relocated to Delaware, where he met and later married Deborah Davis, on August 30, 1986. Raymond worked many jobs and retired from the City of Milford, DE. Raymond enjoyed cooking, fishing, horseshoes, horseback riding, but there was nothing like his favorite pastime- barbequing a pig on the grill, no matter what time of night. He was preceded in death by his parents; one brother and one sister. Raymond leaves to cherish his loving memories, his wife, Deborah Davis; four children, Eliza and Raymond Smith, both of Salters, SC, Harell Griffin of Elizabeth City, NC, and Tina Lopez of Lincoln, DE; five grandchildren, four sisters, Gloria (Leroy) Gamble, Penny (Clarence) Huell, Ernestine (Leon) McClough, all of Salters, SC and Sylvia (James Edward) Nesmith, of Kingstree, SC; brothers, Leroy (Yvonne) Davis of Salters, SC, Jerome (Williean) Davis of Stone Mountain, GA, Calhoun, Jr. (Helen) Davis, of Palm Bay, FL, and Herman (Audrey) Davis, of Columbia, SC; seven aunts, Marie Tisdale, Lillie Fulmore, of Trio, SC, Neritha (Willie James) Barr of Kingstree, SC, Glendell Morris, Eva Kelly, and Rodie Bendoff, of Philadelphia, PA, and Catherine Fulmore of Florida; one step-aunt, Jannie Frances Mitchell of Salters, SC; three step-uncles, a niece & nephew raised as sisters and brothers, Gerald Davis and Bertha May Davis Johnson; mother-in-law, Clara Winder of Seaford, DE; ten sisters-in-law, Retta (Elmer) Kane, Joyce (Michael) Winder, Brenda (Allen) Johnson, Matilda (and the late Percell) Smith, Ella and William Farlow, all of Seaford, DE; Audrey Winder, Ruth Ann West, Diane Freeman, all of Laurel, DE; Daisey Satchell, of Milton, DE, Mary Showell, of Salisbury, MD, Connie (and the late Curtis) Savage, of Berlin, MD; four brothers-in-law, Samuel West, of Seaford, DE, Theodore West, of Salisbury, MD, Ronnie West, of Wilmington, DE and Anthony Matthews; two aunts, Jeannette (and the late Henry) Strand, of Boston, MA and Marlene & Glenn Blake, of Seaford, DE; one uncle, Russell & Mary Winder, of Delmar, DE; sweet godchildren, Tequilla Winder, Amara Dashiell and Bra’Shawn Winder; close at heart family support, Bobby Carson, Willie Bynes, Lamont Winder and Edward Winder, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
