Pauline Tull

Pauline Tull was born on August 25, 1943, in Snow Hill, MD to the late Viola Johnson. She transitioned peacefully in her home surrounded by her loved ones on Wednesday, March 1, 2023. Pauline and her husband Sam were joined together in Holy Matrimony on November 12, 1965. They were childhood friends, which led to love at first sight. Mrs. Tull received her education at Worcester High School where she graduated in 1962. Pauline was employed for many years at the Sea Hawk Motel in Ocean City, MD as an Assistant Housekeeping Manager. The owners took a great liking to her and quickly became family. Some of the people she adored on the job were: Pam, Linda, Cliff, Sonya, Susan, Richard, Evalene, Sarah, Nancy (who nicknamed her “Paulina”), and her riding partner Delores. Pauline attended the Apostolic Church of Jesus Christ for over 30 years. During that time, she was the President of the usher board and served on the Pastoral Committee. She was a mother and matriarch of ACJC. She loved God and studying the word. Outside of church, she also enjoyed doing crossword puzzles, word searches, fill-in-the-blanks, and coloring. She loved to tease people when playing Skip-Bo and Uno. She was the most competitive person you’d ever meet. Pauline was known for her cooking skills, which she shared with the church. She was famous for her dumplings and she was the best chitterlings cleaner around. Let’s not forget, her favorite thing of all was bossing her husband Sam around! Pauline will be lovingly remembered by her husband of 57 years, Samuel Benjamin Finney Tull; two daughters, Ellen M. Hall (Pastor Randolph) and Emily E. Dale (Jeffery); three sons, Samuel B. Tull (Tomasina), Edward L. Tull, and Erik L. Tull; two brothers, Bishop James R. Johnson (First Lady Mary Alice) and Stanley Johnson (Juanita); one aunt, Agnes Mumford; 10 grandchildren, Ashley Tull, Alicia Tull, India Tull, Nikki Hall, Samuel Tull IV, Jada Dale, Erin Tull, Ki’esha Tull, Eric Swift, and Laela Swift; nine great-grandchildren, Jalyah Harmon, Nizhae Tull, Nakiya Hall, Nasir Tull, Aaliyah Mumford, Ariana Sturgis, Jyàre Turlington, Jaceyon Holland, and Kaine Tull; 10 extended grandchildren, James Chandler, Robert Chandler, Terrance Johnson, Rebecca Dennis, Tabitha Brown, Lakedia Mumford, Marquis Johnson, Tanisha McCray, Jeremiah Johnson, and Zachariah Johnson; a special friend Delores Blake; several nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends. In addition to her mother, she was also preceded in death by maternal grandparents Buela F. Johnson and Irvin Johnson; father-in-law, Samuel Tull; mother-in-law, Helen Tull; sister-in-law, Diane Lofland; son-in-law, Antione DeShun Mumford; two grandchildren, Peter Johnson and Donald Johnson; three great-grandchildren, Kameron Chandler, Dortez McCray Jr., and Audrey Lynn Mumford; a special friend, Rosa Lee Purnell; many aunts, uncles, and other relatives.
