Paulette Dorsey Davis

Paulette Ellen (Harris) Davis, at the age of sixty-eight (68), departed this life peacefully on Friday, October 6, 2023, at Coastal Hospice at the Lake in Salisbury, Maryland. She was born on October 18, 1955, at Nanticoke Memorial Hospital in Seaford, Delaware to the late Sarah Eunice Hudson Harris and Frank Victor Harris. Paulette received her education from Delmar Elementary and Delmar Jr. & Sr. High School. Her spiritual training was received from the House of Jacob (formerly of Salisbury, Maryland) and Union United Methodist Church in Delmar, Maryland. In the old Salisbury Mall on Civic Avenue is where she owned and operated her own flower shop. Also, she was an employee of Salisbury Cleaners, Family Dollar and Bargain Bill’s Flea Market. She was the mother to three sons, Benjamin, Kevin and Brian. On May 21, 2011, Paulette wed Burton Davis, whom she adored and affectionately called him her “Great and Wonderful” and so he is. Paulette had a real zeal for life. She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother. Her life’s adventures have taken her around the world and back to the Eastern Shore. Her heart was big and warm as her smile. She didn’t know a stranger therefore she was known as a “Social Butterfly.” Listen, the girl could talk - pure Hudson. She was a blessing to those who entered her home. She would often say, “You can’t receive a blessing with a closed hand.” Paulette had such a giving and helping spirit. Her favorite pastimes were watching Westerns, listening to some smooth tunes, clicking endlessly on the computer, where she earned the nickname “Clickette”...oh my, the windows she would open. Paulette enjoyed people: friends family and strangers. She engaged, listened, and advised you and sent you on your merry way. The conversations, let us never forget. She will be lovingly remembered by: her husband, Burton Davis; two sons, Benjamin L. Tatem and Brian T. Tatem; two daughters-in-law, Jennifer Williams-Tatem and Jennifer Hickman-Tatem; three sisters, Jacqueline Duncan, Joan Harris and Victoria Chandler; three brothers, Robert Harris, Dean Harris and Scott Harris; granddaughters, Kelly, Jacki, Olivia, Sarah, and Abby Tatem; grandsons, Ondre and Izayah Tatem and Kaleb and Brayden Cronic; three great-grandchildren and several nieces, nephews, cousins, in-laws and friends. In addition to her parents, Paulette was also preceded in death by her son, Kevin T. Tatem, brother, Richard N. Hudson and sister, Shirley Harris.
