Patricia Louray Lindsey

Our Heavenly Father called Patricia Louray Lindsey home at 3:53 pm on Saturday, September 22, 2012. He rested her tired and weary body in His strong and able hands and brought forth a beautiful sunset in a cloudy sky. Patricia was born to the late Marion Lindsey on August 30, 1940. A precocious child, "Baby Dumpling" spent her early years on the farm in Quaker Neck with Poppa and Momma Lindsey, learning how to cure meat, skin rabbits and make delicious wildlife delicacies. She spent time with her Murray family, attending school in Rock Hall, Maryland and later attending Henry Highland Garnet School in Chestertown, Maryland. She loved her family and started her own at the age of 18, with the late Harold Wallace Jones. "Pat Lindsey" was always a hard worker - she wore many hats working to support the family income. She worked at the Campbell Soup Company; in sales, part-time for the Fox Department Store and in office cleaning services, part-time at Brooks Mill. Pat continued her education at Chesapeake College in Wye Mills, Maryland, Cecil County Community College and finally earned her degree in Social Work at the University of Maryland, Baltimore County. She worked at the Department of Social Services in Cecil County Maryland and received the Governor's Citation for 26 years of Outstanding Service. Not wanting to sit at home following retirement, she joined the staff at Crossroads Community Inc. as a homecare caseworker. Pat had many interests - she enjoyed music, singing and reading poetry in private and public gatherings. She had an eye for color and sewed garments and crafted, crocheted and knitted items. After moving to Fairlee, she found one of her greatest joys being a member of the Potter's House Ministries. Leading new, and some tried and true, fundraising events for her church were treasured activities. Her faith grew ever stronger with her Potter’s House family. She leaves to mourn her cherished memory her children: Harold Wallace Jones, Jr., and Tracy Foote (Eric) - Sisters and Brother: Bagwaina Tarrant, Valerie Anderson, Rosalind Hynson, and James Sampson - Grandchildren: Jonathan Manno, Jerrin Foote, Shanae Richardson, Shaun James, Tiera Jones, Kyndall Foote, Michael Hawthorne, Evan Jones, Adam Jones, and Xavier Jones. She also leaves to mourn one of her special auntie, Florence Harris; five great-grandchildren and a host of devoted family members and friends.
