Patricia Irene Carney Feeney

Patricia Feeney, was born September 5, 1941, to the late Herbert and Tressa Carney, in New Jersey. She departed this life July 17, 2021. She was educated in the New Jersey school system. In her younger years, Patricia enjoyed playing a variety of sports. In her later years, she took up bowling with her girlfriends from work. They would bowl after work and sometimes into the next morning. Patricia was always a sports fanatic and could tell you about any team and most of the players on that team. Her favorite football team was the Raiders. Pat loved basketball and was a Los Angeles Lakers fan, until Lebron joined the team (not a Lebron fan), then she enjoyed the Golden State Warriors, especially the splash brothers. She never missed any game on T.V., and if she did, she was upset because no one had told her it was on. Patricia was also a vivid traveler/navigator. She did not own a driver’s license, but could navigate you anywhere that she had traveled in a car, better than Google Maps. She was the map. She also loved the annual cousin retreat in Lancaster, Pennsylvania, and the annual family reunion at Lum’s Pond in New Castle, Delaware. Pat especially enjoyed attending the annual Nanticoke Indian Pow Wow, where she would work the fry bread station. Pat was a lifetime member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Auxiliary Department of Delaware. Patricia served in the United States Army from 1959 to 1961. She received an honorable discharge in September 1961. After her discharge, she began a career working for the United States Government in the Social Security Department, in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, where she dedicated over 35 years of her life. Patricia was preceded in death by her parents, as well as her siblings, Michael Carney, Martin Carney, Sr., Herbert Bard, Presley Carney and Richard Carney. Patricia is survived by her son, Donald Feeney (LaVette) of Las Vegas, NV; daughters, Tonoa Harmon of Millsboro, DE, Junina Sullivan (Tyrone) of Dover, DE and Adrienne Harmon of Newark, DE; grandchildren, Donya Feeney, Gerald Harmon, Tyan Collins, Javonte Grimes, Briyana Brisbane, Jaya Sullivan, Nailah Feeney, Cheyenne Wright, Aidan Feeney, Alexis Guzman and Machenna Cole; 26 great-grandchildren; a host of brothers and sisters, Herbert Carney of Maryland, Norman Carney (Annette) and Dennis Carney (Julie) of Delaware, Theodore Carney, Katheryn Clark (Douglas) and JoAnn Carney (Ronald) all of New Jersey, Wayne Carney of Missouri, Louise Doyle of Pennsylvania, Doris “Marie” Bard of Virginia, Wanda Carney McConnell (Anthony), Stephanie Carney of California, Donna Pritchett (Vance) of Nevada, Peggy Carney of Missouri and Natalie Carney of Louisiana; a loving stepmother, Doris Bard of Pennsylvania; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and close friends, including Evelyn Lewis and Deloris Thomas. Patricia was the active head of four generations and the family matriarch. She will be greatly missed.
