Patricia A. Demby

Patricia Ann Johnson Demby, also known as “Patsy”, age 64, departed this life on Monday, August 7, 2017, due to a tragic automobile accident. Patsy was born on Tuesday, March 17, 1953, to the late Thomas Edison and Martha McGrath Johnson in Cambridge, Maryland. She was the 10th of 11 children. Patsy grew up in East New Market, Maryland, and attended Dorchester County Public Schools. She graduated from North Dorchester High School in Hurlock, Maryland. Patsy was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. Her 3 daughters, 8 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren were her life. She enjoyed spending time with her family, and dancing. Patsy was employed by Pizza Hut for over 30 years. She started her Pizza Hut career in Cambridge, Maryland, and was currently working at the location in Easton, Maryland. She was also currently employed by Beebe Healthcare in Lewes, Delaware, where she had worked for 11 months. Patsy was a devoted worker, only missing time when she was ill. She enjoyed spending time with her family, laughing and dancing. To know her was to love her. She was preceded in death by her husband, George H. Demby; her siblings, Ruby, Shirley & Rose Johnson and James Jolley; grandchildren, Rosemarie Demby, Patricia Ann Demby Wiley, and George Harrison Demby Neal; great-grandchildren, Zymir & Zyair Johnson and Jakira Taylor. She leaves to mourn her loss, 3 daughters, Leslie (Ezel) Zachery of Lincoln, DE, Georgia (Joseph) Thompson of Pittsburgh, PA, and Dinez (Alex) Goines of Baltimore, MD; eight grandchildren, Eugene Smullen, Jr., Tywuan Johnson, Jarwuan (Cydney) Johnson, Jarmar Neal, Sr., Tiray Camper, Aignshe Peterson, Ke'Nosha Johnson and Emani Goines; seven great-grandchildren, Robert Jr., Za'Niyah, Jamar, Jr., JaiMir, Janiya, Sa'Ryn and Eugene, III; four sisters, Martha Milligan of Cambridge, MD, Marilyn, Rita and Pamela Johnson of Baltimore, MD; two brothers, Russell "Fletcher" Johnson of Salisbury, MD, and Thomas Edison Johnson of Baltimore, MD; three sisters-in-law, Carolyn Jolley of Baltimore, MD, Pearl Boggs of Hurlock, MD and Terrylynn Demby of Cambridge, MD; two special nephews, whom she thought of as the sons she never had, Dwayne Demby and William Jenkins, Jr.; two nieces who were always there when called upon, Laura Collins and Cassandra Brown; a special niece, Elsie Demby—her BFF/Road Dog; and her forever friends, Edytheia Slacum and Madelyn Spence; and a host of other nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
