Nichole Ann White

Nichole’s Life Story Nichole Ann Smith White, beloved daughter and wife, passed away on November 26, 2025 at the age of fifty-eight (58) at Tidal Health Peninsula Regional Hospital in Salisbury, MD. Nichole was born to Randall L. Smith and the late Peggy Ann Showell on January 14, 1967 in Lewes, DE. Nichole attended Krebs Elementary School in Newport, DE, Selbyville Middle School, Indian River High School and graduated from Claymont High School in 1985. As a youth, Nichole was known to be an outstanding athlete. She excelled in softball, track & field, and basketball at Indian River High School. She held the record in the State of Delaware for the 100 yard dash. Nichole held various jobs including, Denny’s Restaurant in Ocean City, MD, Mountaire Farms in Selbyville, DE, and the restaurant located in the Salisbury Regional Airport. She retired at an early age, due to illness. On June 27, 2008, Nichole married the love of her life and soul mate, Bruce Eugene White. The love she had for her husband was beautiful, and vice versa. Nichole could always be found on her phone playing games and spending time with her beloved dogs, Xena, Shaboo, and Chaos. She had a smile that would brighten any room. At 4 feet and 11 inches tall and 119 lbs, she carried herself as a giant. She said what she meant and meant what she said. Never meeting a stranger, everyone was her “cousin.” Nichole loved her family. Nichole leaves to cherish loving memories: her loving husband of seventeen (17) years, Bruce Eugene White of Eden, MD; loving father, Randall L. Smith of Newark, DE; two step-children, Julius White and Kizzy Holbrook; step-sister, Stacey Stevens; step-brother, Damon Stevens, and seven step-grandchildren. She also leaves three special aunts: Gloria Handy (Paul) Pugh of Westover, MD, Mary Ellen Handy of Bishopville, MD, and Annette Handy of Selbyville, DE; uncles, Bill (Terry) Smith of Berlin, MD, Russell (Arlinda) Smith of New Jersey, Raymond (Diane) Smith of Salisbury, MD and Robert Baker of Bishopville, MD; special cousins, Sheena Handy, Nina Savage, Maurice Handy, Gordon Handy, Paula Pugh, and a host of cousins, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by: her mother, Peggy Ann Showell; step-mother, Ellen Smith; maternal grandparents, Edward and Madeline Handy; paternal grandparents, Harrison and Sarah Smith; aunts, Rosie Johnson, Roberta Cropper, Martha Custis, Ruth Rayne, and Diane Purnell; uncles, Robert Smith and Layfield Smith, and a special cousin, Calvin Lee Handy.
