Nancy L Foreman

Nancy Lee (Shockley) Foreman was born April 1, 1932 in Bishop, Maryland, fell asleep in death on Sunday, May 10, 2020 at Deers Head Hospital Center in Salisbury, Maryland, where she resided. She was the daughter of the late Franklin Herbert Shockley and Maggie (Fassett) Shockley. She was formerly employed by Showell Poultry, Berlin Sewing Factory, and Sunshine Laundry. She was a member of the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses in Salisbury, Maryland. Prior to her illness, Nancy loved to have her family gather at her home. They would all pack into her small apartment like sardines to tell childhood stories, laugh, and eat. She would eventually learn of all the mischievous things her children did that she was unaware of for many years. Having her family around her was the joy of her life. She was the glue that held them together. Nancy was also a great cook, but she didn't think so. She was so humble about the wonderful dishes she created and never took credit for how good they tasted. Her specialties were greens, chicken and dumplings, mac and cheese, potato salad, and for dessert, her delicious bread pudding. She could make a screaming sweet potato pie. Nancy loved to sew and iron. She could make the most beautiful curtains. There was nothing she would not do for someone in need if it was within her power to do so. Her entire family loved her dearly and she will be greatly missed. Her loving memory will be cherished by: her eight (8) children: Bathsheba Phillips of Sunnyvale, CA, David Shockley (Jaqueline) of Dothan, AL, Clorinda Tingle (Lockwood) of Delmar, MD, Preston Foreman, Jr. (Gaynelle) of Snow Hill, MD, Stanley Foreman of Cumberland, MD, Valerie Maeberry (Bruce) of Salida, CA, and Marcus Foreman (Lily) of Tracy, CA, and Kenneth Foreman, Sr. (Amanda) of Perkasie, PA.; twenty-one grandchildren: Chelsea, Jay, Lakeisha, David, Davonna, Brandy, Ambrei', Brendan, Tereke, Bianca, Tristan, Kendra, Ron Jr., Tashina, Ebony, Destany, Gemayel, Kenda, Kenneth Jr., Zahara, and Jaden. four remaining siblings, Blanche Hilliard (Albert) of Whaleyville, MD, Vylina Tindley (Darryl) of Bear DE, James Shockley of Berlin MD, George Shockley of Chester, PA, and Rosie Brittinghan of Berlin, MD and a host of great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins, daughters and son-in-laws, and friends. She also leaves her ex-husband and friend, Preston D. Foreman, Sr. of West Ocean City, MD. She was preceded death by a granddaughter (Zoe) and a great-grandson (Justin); three siblings: Eltee Shockley, Sr., Charles Shockley, and Robert Shockley, Sr.; step-mother, Beulah Brittingham, and sister-in-law, Betty Shockley.
