Myrtle Elizabeth Northam

Mother Myrtle Elizabeth Northam was born to the late Rose Anna and Edward James Northam on December 31, 1932 in New Church, Virginia. She entered into eternal rest on Tuesday, January 19, 2016 at her residence in Pocomoke City, Maryland. Miss Myrtle or Mother Northam, as she was affectionately called, loved the Lord with all her heart. She gave her life to the Lord in April 1997 under the leadership of Bishop William Northan in Onancock, Virginia. She also attended New Psalmist Church in Westover, Maryland for several years pastored by Pastor Glendon Jones. She lived a sanctified life until her death. She believed that true holiness is a lifestyle. Miss Myrtle lived in Withams, Virginia for most of her life. She was a “neighborhood” mother to many and well loved by all. She had a knack for loving and helping anyone she could. She was known for telling you the truth no matter how you felt about it. Mother Northam was employed at various places in the food service industry for many years. She worked at Holly Farms, Buddy Boy’s and Chincoteague Seafood, just to name a few. Ultimately, she became a homemaker over 20 years ago, which she loved. She then dedicated all of her time to being the loving grandmother that she was. Mother Northam loved to read and you could often find her reading the Word of God, as well as many other Christian books. She was very knowledgeable and loved to impart knowledge to others. She also loved to travel and if there was a car moving, she was in it. Her favorite vacation spot was Orlando, FL. Mother Northam was preceded in death by one daughter, Rosemary Northam and one brother, Elder Johnnie Crippen. She leaves to cherish her legacy: six children, John (Nanette) Northam of Pikeville, NC; Elvis Northam of Mappsville, VA Ella ( Kenny ) Smith of Pocomoke, Maryland, Yvette Northam of Eden , Maryland , Richard Northam of Long Beach, CA and Charlene (Lawrence) Bunting of Atlantic, VA; her 11 grandchildren, Sherone (Billy) Johnson; Natasha Northam, John Northam, Jr. Nicholas (Ashley) Northam, Jamie Reeder, Ty (Ayana) Northam, Sr., Kiana Smith, Kenneth Northam, Kendall Northam, Devin Northam, and Austin Bunting as well as several great grandchildren and a host of other relatives and friends.
