Myron Mason Freeman

Celebration of Life June 20, 1956 – July 27, 2021 “Thou will keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on thee”. Isaiah 26:3 God dispatched His holy angels to Christiana Care Hospital, on Thursday, July 27, 2021. God took Myron Mason Freeman, to his holy rest. Myron was the son of the late Grover Cleveland and Edith Brooks Freeman Mickles and stepmother, Lauretta Murray Freeman. Myron was born in Chestertown, Maryland, at the Kent & Queen Annes Hospital, on June 20, 1956. He was preceded in death by one brother, Bruce Efrem Freeman. As a young lad living in Butlerstown, Maryland, Myron attended the community church, which was Mt. Olive A.M.E. Church. Myron relocated to Baltimore, and joined Bethel A.M.E. Church, under the leadership of Reverend Frank Reid. He also was an avid listener of the Reverend Charles Stanley Ministries. Myron was a very kind and considerate person who loved the best things in life and all that life had to offer. Although Myron liked the finer things in life, he was a humble soul. He was a fine dresser for all occasions, sparing no expense. He loved cars, clothing, furs, alligator shoes, etc. He also enjoyed all types of entertainment. His favorite singing group was the Whispers and he also loved Phyllis Hyman. Myron attended Johnston Square Elementary School in Baltimore, Maryland and after relocating, he attended Henry Highland Garnet Junior High School. Myron graduated from Kent Count High School in 1975. He played football and basketball during his high school years. His leadership ability helped him to excel as a “star athlete”, especially with his “smooth” jump shot in basketball. Myron studied masonry in high school, which led to his mastery of laying bricks. He was employed by Risso, Inc., located in Delaware. He later joined the family company of Freeman Brothers Brick Laying Company. Myron started laying bricks over the Eastern Shore. He later became the owner and operator of his dump truck company, named Dress in Red. This was his first adventure with a trucking business. Myron also worked at the Port of Baltimore for the Steamship Trade Association, as a long shoreman. He was extremely proud of his accomplishments. Myron was blessed to retire from the port in October 2020. His new goal was to open his second ownership of the dump truck business called the Black Widow Truck Company, Inc., established January 2021. He was now self-satisfied with this accomplishment. No more long hours at the port; he just enjoyed driving his truck. Myron married his beloved, long-time friend, Melessa Denee’ Brown, on December 18, 2011. This marital union was a treasuriest marriage, consummated with love, compassion and total commitment to each other. Myron leaves to cherish his memory, his adorable wife, Melessa; brothers, Lamont Johnson, Sobeye Freeman (Michelle); sister, Germaye Scott (Alvin); mother-in-law, Peggy Brown; grandfather-in-law, Ralph Whye; sisters-in-law, Damito Brown, MaKyra Brogden (Alonza); a special aunt, Jean Butler Freeman; a host of aunts, uncles, great nieces, nephews, great nephews, cousins, many friends; as well as adopted brothers, Ronnie Wilson, Marlin Sparks, Curtis Harris, Robert Burrell, Don Thomas, Troy Barnes and Ben Henry; special mentors, Thomas Newman, Frank Williams, Henry James and James Hershberger.
