MONTAE’S JOURNEY Montae “Man” William Jackson was born December 1, 1976 at University of Pennsylvania Hospital in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. He attended school at New Testament Church of Christ Christian Academy, The Christian Academy, and Edison Academy where he developed knowledge of the Word, a firm educational foundation, and a love for God. Man accepted the Lord Jesus Christ at an early age and began serving God in his community and church. While growing up, his family couldn’t help but notice that he was unusually spectacular at fixing things around the house, making him a five-year-old Mr. Fix It. Probably the youngest handyman ever! He enjoyed art and completed a few portraits that his family still cherishes. He finished his primary education in 1995 when he graduated from Snow Hill High School in Snow Hill, Maryland. He moved on to enjoy his collegiate education at DeVry University. Man was coached by his father in auto mechanics and went on to work in heavy machinery operations at Donovan’s Salvage, proving to be a reliable employee with an incredibly dedicated work ethic. At the age of twenty-two (22) on December 21, 1999, Man quickly found his purpose in life and the epitome of love as he became a father to his first child, Ta’Quess Jackson. He welcomed the second light of his life when his daughter, Monyae Jackson was born on December 2, 2015. Being a father was the light and joy of his life. His face would light up with compassion and endearment each and every time he saw his children, calling them his motivation for his hard work and sacrifice. In 2016, Man was diagnosed with multiple sclerosis (MS). The disease progressed quickly, leaving him without the capability to work and limited the range of motion of his legs. Throughout his six years of battling his illness, he wouldn’t let the pain defeat him or deplete his giving spirit. He departed this Earth to be with our Lord on Monday, September 12, 2022 at Tidal Health Peninsula Regional in Salisbury, Maryland. Man spent his life being a loyal friend, a loving brother and cousin, a doting father and a respectful son and nephew. There wasn’t anything he wouldn’t sacrifice for the ones he loved. Although he is no longer in pain, he leaves behind two grieving parents, (Mary “Lisa” and Willie Jackson), his son and daughter, Ta’Quess and Monyae Jackson, his brother, Kyree Jackson, his sister, Jolisa Jackson and a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews cousins and friends. We are left to cherish the memories of his crazy laugh, obsession with good food, a chronic candy addict, and natural knack to make everyone laugh. We miss you, Man!
