Miles Cuffee

Miles Levi Cuffee, Sr., was born August 24, 1952, in Lewes, Delaware, to the late Jullion Cuffee Sr., and Esther M. Cuffee and was one of ten children born to the two. He departed this life on October 8, 2019, from a long-time illness. Butch, as he was affectionately called, received his elementary and secondary education in Maryland and graduated from Colonel Richardson High School in 1970. After graduation, he served in the Marines and was honorably discharged from service. After the Marines he attended and graduated from Richmond Barbering School and was a practicing barber for several years. He worked many odd jobs, but truck driving was his passion. He enjoyed being on the road and talked about it all the time. On September 29, 1972, he married Marlene Frances Price and from this union, there were two children; Miles Levi Cuffee, Jr., who preceded him in death and Tasha (Cuffee) Hooks. He had an additional daughter Abriyah Rholetter and one step-son Gregory Price. Butch had a good sense of humor and he was a great storyteller. You could always find him making someone laugh or telling a joke. He loved fishing and crabbing and he was able spent his last days doing what he loved. He also enjoyed spending time with and being surrounded by his family. Butch leaves to cherish him: his significant other and long-time companion, Veronica Rickards (Felton, DE); his siblings: Jullion (Coretta) Cuffee Jr. (Millsboro, DE), Starr (Reuben) Hargraves (Felton, DE), Terri (Richard) Fooks (Greenwood, DE), Micah Cuffee (Smyrna, DE), Mary (Eric) Wayman (Santa Clarita, CA), Corinthian (Kimberly) Cuffee (Felton, DE), Esther (William) Crawford (Dover, DE), Melvin Cuffee (Marydel, DE), Frank (Rocha) Cuffee (Dover, DE), Angel (Anthony) Deshields (Denton, MD), Jullion (Lenora) Taylor (Hurlock, MD), Brenda (Lewis) Richards (Preston, MD), Kevin Taylor (Bridgeville, DE), and Rhonda (Wayne) Batson (Elkton, MD); mother-in-law, Delores Price; son-in-law, Tony Hooks Sr.; daughter-in-law, Christian Ceraso. Preceded him in death were three sisters; Rudy Blockson, Tammy Batson and Michelle Howe and one brother; Timothy Taylor.
