Mildred Anna Stewart

Mildred Anna Stewart, known by many as “Anna” or “Mil”, went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, May 3, 2014. Born on November 8, 1940 in Girdletree, Maryland, she was the daughter of the late George and Dorothy Taylor. She departed this life on May 3, 2014 at Peninsula Regional Medical Center. Raised in Girdletree, Maryland, “Anna” or “Mil” as she was affectionately called, was a lifelong member of Coolspring United Methodist Church, where she served in the United Methodist Women organization and was a member of the “ Helping Hands Gospel Choir.” Anna loved the Lord and her faith was strong. Even in the midst of her many storms, she still praised the Lord; her faith never faltered. She had the voice of an angel and praised the Lord with song whenever she could. Times in the hospital when we thought she was asleep, if you read Scripture or sang gospel songs, you would see her hands move and a smile come on her face. Anna has ridden out her storm. Her work on earth is done, and she’s at peace. Victory has claimed the Victory. She was united in Holy Matrimony on July 14, 1973 to Willie James Stewart and to this union was born a daughter, Takisha Stewart. Anna was also the proud mother of one son, Shawn Taylor, Sr. Anna is survived by: three sisters, Francis Waters, Rosa Brown and Connie Taylor; a special nephew, Donnie Taylor who was always there along with her family as much as possible holding her hands, being a nurse and assisting her anyway he could. He loved teasing her until she got tired and told him she was gonna “tear his head up.” We also give praise and thanks to Rosa Brown, who was constantly there help in any way possible. Also surviving are 11 grand children; 14 great grandchildren; a sister-in-law Dorothy Sutherland and a host of nieces nephews, family and friends. Mil was preceded in death by three daughters, Teresa, Starlette and Michelle and her siblings Betty, Rudolph and George Taylor.
