Mary Clark

Mary Edna Clark, was born December 24, 1926, in Denton Maryland. She departed this life on November 16, 2021. She was the daughter of the late Elenora Holmes Staten and William Henry Holmes, Sr. Edna was married to the late Josephus Clark Sr of Norfolk Virginia. Her education was at the following schools; Lockerman High in Denton, Maryland, Phyllis Wheatley in Bridgeville, Delaware and Fredrick Douglass in Seaford, Delaware. She moved to Milford, Delaware, at the age of 15. Edna joined St. Paul United Methodist Church at the age of 16; which she was a devoted member. She served as secretary of the Young Adult Fellowship, Church School Teacher and later became the superintendent. Edna ushered many years with her dear friend, Naomi Harris and was a dedicated Financial Secretary of the church, for over 50 years. Whatever she was asked to do, she did it without hesitation. Edna served secretary for Benjamin Banneker P.T.A. for three years. She also began her employed at Milford Memorial Hospital in the year 1950, and retired November 1991 after 41 years of dedicated service as an assistant supervisor of dietary. Her legacy at the hospital was "Whenever you need help call Edna." She always put other people's feelings before her own. In addition to her parents and husband, Edna was preceded in death by her baby sister, Madeline Young of Slaughter Neck, DE; brother, William H. Holmes, Jr. of Milford DE; sister, Pearl Taylor of Denton, MD; brother-in-law, Willie Donaldson, Sr. of Milford DE; son-in-law, Willie Collins of Woodside, DE; and her dearest, longtime friend, Helena Fields of Lincoln DE. Edna leaves to mourn her death, her loving family, children, Joan Clark, Josephus Clark, Jr.(Joyce), Sharonann Collins, and Rodney Clark (Estell); one sister, Catherine Donaldson; six grandchildren, Darryl, Shawn, Jamie, Jarret, Delron and Destiny; twelve great-grandchildren, Jierre, Michaella, Makhy, Eshawn, Tariq, Christopher, Jonathan, Justin, Aiden, Rylee, Jayden and Nathaniel; one great-great grandchild, Eliana;, her dearest niece, Elsie Taylor Cooper; and numerous nieces, nephews, and many good friends. Her favorite scripture Psalms 121. Her Motto was, "Let my loving heart speak for me" ...
