Marlyn L. Anderson

Marlyn Lillian Anderson was born in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania on March 30, 1947, to the late Reverend Edward Lamont Anderson and the late Marjorie Maria Anderson. She attended the Philadelphia public school system and later attended Philadelphia Community College. Marlyn gave her life to Christ at an early age, she was a member of White Rock Independent Church in Philadelphia and served on the usher board. She had a great eye for interior design. She could move into a house one day and in a matter of a couple of weeks redesign the whole house by herself. It was nothing to see her with hammer and nails in her hands making something only she could see, you knew not to ask her what she was doing because knowing her, it was going to be something beautiful. She had such a big heart for her children, her friends and family. She was a very important part of a group of friends that for over fifteen years held an event known as the "Friends Picnic" in Fairmount Park, Philadelphia PA, people from all around made sure to be at this event. She was talking about planning another “Friends Picnic” just before see departed. Marlyn worked at the United States Post Office and she held a position as an Administrative Assistant at Connelly Containers for 10 years before relocating to Bridgeville, Delaware to care for her mother and great nephew. She worked at Peninsula Oil in the Accounting Department until her medical retirement. She moved to Reading, Pennsylvania to assist in the care of her eldest son’s children Trey and Shay, and then later moved to Cambridge, MD to assist her youngest son with the care of his children Cayla & Lamont, Jr. While in Cambridge she joined Living by Truth Ministries, rededicated her life to Christ and became an active member providing immeasurable assistance to her son and daughter Pastor Lamont and Co-Pastor Mia Jackson. She served as Financial Secretary until her transition. Marlyn said “I know God sent me here to help my son”. She was dearly known by the LTM Family as “Mom Marlyn.” Marlyn leaned heavily on the Lord for strength, courage and hope. Marlyn leaves to cherish her memories: her children; John, Lamont (Mia), and Christian (great nephew); six grandchildren; Crystal (Bobby), Christian, Trey, Shay; four great grandchildren; Amira, Gabriel, Nevaeh, Ezekiel; nieces, nephews, cousins, one Godchild, Dwayne Brabham, and a host of friends.
