No eye has seen no ear has heard and no mind has imagined What God has prepared for those who love him I Corinthians 2:9 On Thursday October 4, 2012, the Lord welcomed our mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, cousin, and the wife of the late Lyle Garfield Holden into His arms. Mariam Jerdine Holden was born on November 22, 1928, to the late Adolphous and Lula Hinnmon Watson in Temprenceville, Virginia. She attended the Accomac County Public Schools. On June 5, 1946 she was united in holy matrimony to the late Lyle Garfield Holden. To this union they were bless with two children one daughter and one son. Mariam was employed by Birds Eye Foods, Pocomoke City, Maryland and Tyson Food of Temprenceville, Virginia as a Cafeteria worker until her retirement in March of 1992. She accepted the Lord Jesus Christ as her Savior at an early age and became a member of the Jerusalem Baptist Church, Temperenceville, Virginia .She demonstrated her commitment to the Lord through her work, as a dedicated member of the church aide chorus, President of the Junior Usher Board and was a avid supporter of all church auxiliaries. After her health failed and she was no longer able to attend church she continued to worship and serve the Lord with her favorite pass times of reading her bible, listening and watching Jimmy Swagger Ministries, and others audio, video and any other means possible. She enjoyed talking with family, friends or anyone who would come in and was about the goodness of the Lord. She always looked forward to the daily visits from her sister every afternoon. She was a true blessing to every life she touched. Mariam loved and enjoyed her family and leaves to cherish her memory: two children, Bonnie Renee Kellam ( Michael) of Pocomoke City, Maryland and Lyle Carnell Holden( Danita) of Silver Springs, Maryland; four grandchildren, Michael Sample of Withams, Virginia, Lindsay Holden( Jesse) Hoagland of Washington, DC, Enn and Nicholas Holden of Silver Springs, Maryland; three great grand children, Michael and Shadonna Sample of Nelsonia, Virginia and Chase Hoagland of Washington, D.C.; one sister Larue Holden (Donnie) of Withams, Virginia; three sisters-in-law, Joyce Watson of Temprenceville, Virginia, whom she had a special love for, Edith Watson of Tempernceville, Virginia and Frances Watson of Atlantic, Virginia; one special friend Josephine Douglas and family of Withhams, Virginia and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends Lovingly Submitted, The Family
