Margaret D. Miller

Elder Margaret Delores Miller peacefully fell asleep in the arms of our Heavenly Father on April 20, 2014 at Bayhealth Medical Center - Kent General Hospital in Dover, Delaware at the age of 79. Elder Miller was born on March 2, 1935. She was the daughter of the late Linford and Martha Harris. Elder Miller received her elementary education at Star Hill Elementary School and secondary education at William Henry School. She was a dedicated employee of Delaware State News and Playtex, where she was employed for over 30 years. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sisters, Mildred G. Harris, Thelma D. Council and June Harris. She leaves to cherish her memories a loving and devoted daughter, Gloria Harris-Potts of Dover, Delaware; two loving and cherished grandsons, DeMarcus L. Harris (Keisha) of Vera Beach, Florida and DeAndrus L. Harris of Felton, Delaware; a loyal, loving elder sister, Missionary Clara L. Paskins; a faithful, kindhearted brother-in-law, Kenneth Council; seven great-grandchildren: DeAndree, DeAndrus Jr., Pashence, Kourtney, DeMarcus Jr., Zoé, and Dru; as well as a host of beloved nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. Keeping true to Matthew 5:16, "Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven; Elder Miller was a lifelong, devoted member of M.F. Chase Unity Memorial Church of Star Hill, Delaware where she faithfully served as the former President of the Growing Vines Youth Choir, former President of the Senior Choir, President of the Pastor's Aide, President of the Ministerial Department, and President of the Women's Department. In addition to the offices held, she served as a member of the Missionary Society, the planning committee for the Annual Session as well as the kitchen committee and was a student of the Interdenominational Bible Institute working towards a Bachelor of Arts in Biblical Studies. Elder Miller was a dedicated and devoted grandmother who loved and enjoyed the company of her family. She truly enjoyed shopping and became well-known for her beautiful hats, suits, and shoes. We truly thank The Lord for the borrowed time we were allowed to spend with her. We shall rejoice in The Lord always for the pathway she paved and the joyous life she led.
