Margaret Joyce Lewis

Margaret Joyce Lewis 77, of Fruitland Maryland transitioned peacefully to her eternal resting place on September 03. 2017. She was born in Brooklyn New York and was the daughter of the late Rev. Dr. McKinley Towns and Anna Mae Bynum Towns. Margaret grew up during the early years of her life in Brooklyn and long Long Island New York. The family later moved to Maryland, where she continued her education, graduating from the former Salisbury High School. A few years later, Margaret relocated to Catonsville Maryland. Where she trained as a Certified Nursing Assistant and began working at Spring Grover State Mental Hospital for Several years. During her time in Catonsville. She married and had three sons. she later returned to the Eastern Shore and became employed at Wicomico Nursing Home. After working at Wicomico Nursing Home for Several years, returned to working for the state of Maryland at The Holly Center in Salisbury. She then give birth to her only daughter, Susan Lewis and she was gainfully employed with the Holly Center, working in the cottage 800 for 30 years. Margaret attended Weeping Mary Full Gospel Baptist Church for Several years. As a member, she served on the hospitality committee and sang on the choir. She was a faithful member, until her sudden illness enabled her to physically attend services. Margaret really enjoyed spending time with family and friends, laughing and just having a good time. Her favorite pastimes were gardening and cooking. She often loved preparing dishes and letting her family try them out, (Especially her chili)., she also enjoyed sewing and making crafts, such as flower arrangements. Margaret Lewis to cherish her loving memories to her three sons Curtis Lewis of Fruitland MD, Lloyd “Eric: Lewis of Fruitland MD, Steven Lewis of Salisbury MD, one daughter Susan Lewis of Salisbury MD, A sister Ruth “Sista” Deal (Alton, Sr.) a Brother Douglas Towns, A Brother Clyde Towns, A sister Helen Perry (Donald, Sr.), and a baby brother whom she affectionally called her twin Milton Towns (Elenore) and a sister in-law Thelma Towns. Along with her children and sliding, she also leaves to four great grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, other relives and family Friends. “Joyce as she was affectionally called.
