Madgeline "Madge" Dashiell-Berrian

Madgeline Dashiell Berrian soared peacefully from her earthly home to enter her eternal resting place on Saturday, March 7, 2014 at Peninsula Regional Medical Center in Salisbury, Maryland at the age of 89. She was educated in the public schools of Wicomico County. She was joined in holy matrimony July 12, 1956 to the late George A Berrian. Madgeline was employed as a cook along with her husband in Florida during the summer and New York in the winter. She matriculated to the Mayflower Hotel in Ocean City, MD as the chef’s wife and chef for 25 years. After retiring from there she went to the University of Maryland Eastern Shore in the dietary department and then transferred to Holly Center in dietary before retiring. Madge, as she was called, was a faithful, lifetime member of Elzey’s United Methodist Church in Jesterville, Maryland before her illness, but she continued sending her money there as well as supporting whatever was going on there. She was a member of the church choir and United Methodist Women. She and her husband also cooked in the dining hall for the church. She was well known for always cooking and having her children and grandchildren come to eat . She could take a little and make a lot. She served in the community as a member of the Success Temple No. 154 Daughter I.B.P.O.E.W. in Salisbury, Maryland, House Hold Roof, NAACP and many more. She received certificates and plaques for her contributions and activeness for being a part of these organizations. Madge leaves to cherish her memories–two daughters, Doris Dashiell Jones (Clinton) of Salisbury, MD and Barbara Dashiell Bishop (William) of Oxon Hill, MD; one granddaughter, Nadine C. Jones of Salisbury, MD; four grandsons, Antione Jones, Sr., Alexander Jones, Sr. of Delmar, MD, Carlos Dashiell (Nanette) of Alexandria, VA and Lance Bishop (Angela) of Odenton, MD; thirteen great-grandchildren, Jeffrey Stewart, Jr. of Baltimore, MD, LaToya Stewart-Andrews (Lee) of South Korea, Ashley Jones of Hebron, MD, David Logan, Jr. of Salisbury, MD, Alexander Jones, Jr. of Delmar, MD, DeFontney, Tatiana and Alexandria Dashiell, all of Alexandra, VA, Isaiah and Isaac Bishop of Odenton, MD; Antoine Stewart of Durham, NC and Hailey Jones of Hebron, MD; three sisters, Anna Leatherbury, Ellen Timmons and Della Timmons, all of Salisbury, MD; special sister, Jean Morris, one sister-in-law, Evelyn Leatherbury of Salisbury , MD; several nieces and nephews and a host of cousins and friends . Her husband George Berrian, Grandson Clinton Jones, III and three brothers, James, Herbert and Otis Dashiell, all preceded her in death.
