Lorenzo Harmon Jr.

Lorenzo Orlando Harmon, Jr., son of the late Beatrice and Lorenzo Harmon, Sr., was born on Friday, December 24, 1926, in Wattsville, Virginia. He departed this life on Monday, September 24, 2018, at his home of 60 years, in Millsboro, Delaware. He was 91 years of age. He was educated in the Virginia Public School System. “Junior“, as all his family and friends called him, was a very outgoing and energetic person who loved to spend time with his family and friends. His greatest joy in life was to make others laugh. He loved his daughter Jeraldine “Jeri” and son Curtis, and would do anything for his family regardless of the situation or circumstance. He loved making homemade ice cream for his grandchildren. He also enjoyed driving the bus for all the church trips. He was a member of St. John 2nd Baptist Church, Millsboro, Delaware. Junior retired from Allen Foods in Harbeson, Delaware after 40 years of service, as a truck driver. While working at Allen Foods, he started his own company “Harmon and Harmon, Ltd.”, which he ran for many, many years. He was a Weighmaster and had several crews that caught chickens for Allen Foods. Junior was a lifelong “Los Angeles Dodger” fan and watched “The Price is Right” daily. He loved traveling by air, water and land, as well as helping his friends and his church family. No task was too great or small. He was preceded in death by his wife, Ethel Harmon; father, Lorenzo Harmon, Sr., and mother, Beatrice Harmon. He leaves to cherish fond memories his devoted daughter, Jeraldine “Jeri” Harmon of Maplewood, New Jersey; son, Curtis Harmon and Helen, of Georgetown, Delaware; two sisters, Winnie Finey and Helen Davis, both of Salisbury, Maryland; one sister-in-law, Beulah Cooper of Seaford, Delaware; six grandchildren, Curtis Harmon of Stanford, Connecticut, Rodney Harmon of Wilmington, Delaware, Gerald Harmon and his wife, Ebonie, of Fort Lauderdale, Florida, Cheryl Harmon of Delmar, Delaware, Felicia White of Millsboro, Delaware; and Quanzel Fullman of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania; nine great-grandchildren; eight great-great grandchildren; a cousin, Elizabeth Harmon; two friends, Ms. Billie Showell and George Bishop, and a host of nieces and nephews.
