Lois Virginia Bunting

Lois Virginia Bunting, the beloved daughter of the late Dorothy and Ernest Bailey and the late William Wilson was born on April 6, 1933 in Modest Town, VA. She went peacefully to her Savior on Friday, February 16, 2018 at Deer’s Head Hospital, Coastal Hospice on the Lake in Salisbury, MD. She was educated in the Accomack County public school system, graduating from Mary N. Smith High School. At an early age, she was baptized and became a member of the First Baptist Church in Mappsville, VA under the pastorship of the late Rev. Dr. M.T. Boone. She later joined the St. James A.M.E. Zion Church in Salisbury, MD, where she was a faithful and dedicated member, serving as an Usher for many years until her health declined. She was also very active in the Brown Bag Ministry. Lois was united in Holy Matrimony to the late John R. Bunting. From this union, God blessed them with three children – Diane, Denise and Marcus. She was employed at the Campbell Soup Company for over forty years. She will certainly be remembered by her coworkers there, as she was known for “keeping everybody straight”. Outspoken and to-the-point, she would give guidance and advice to whomever needed it – young or old. After retirement, Lois enjoyed spending time with her family, shopping and traveling. Lois was very sharp dresser no matter what the season or the occasion! Detailed from head to toe! We shall certainly miss seeing those beautiful church hats and matching outfits. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband John R. Bunting; sisters Missouri Byrd and Anna Johnson; brothers Irving and Robert Bailey. We are so very thankful for her life and her legacy. The fond memories we now have will forever dwell within our hearts. She leaves to cherish her children – Diane Hudson, Denise Bunting(Dana) and Marcus Bunting, Sr. (Shanika); grandchildren Shavonne Booker(Eric), Christie Williams, David Williams (Rachel), Devon Bunting, Jamar Wilson, Marquita Bunting, Marcus Bunting, Jr., and Marquez Bunting; thirteen great-grandchildren; brother Herbert Wilson (Shirley); sister Margie Wilson; three god-daughters, Lazette Young, Leslie Larkins, Heather Evans; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
